Abstract: The doubly charmed baryon decay Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi(+)(c)pi(+) is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance of 5.9 sigma, confirming a recent observation of the baryon in the Lambda K-+(c)-pi(+)pi(+) final state. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The Xi(++)(cc) mass is measured to be 3620.6 +/- 1.5(stat) +/- 0.4(syst) +/- 0.3(Xi(+)(c)) MeV/c(2) and is consistent with the previous result. The ratio of branching fractions between the decay modes is measured to be [B(Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi(+)(c)pi(+)) x B(Xi(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+))]/[B(Xi(++)(cc) -> Lambda K-+(c)-pi(+)pi(+)) x B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+))] = 0.035 +/- 0.009 (stat) +/- 0.003 (syst).

Abstract: The resonant substructure of B-s(0) -> (D) over bar K-0(-)pi(+) decays is studied using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb detector. An excess at m((D) over bar K-0(-)) approximate to 2.86 GeV/c(2) is found to be an admixture of spin-1 and spin-3 resonances. Therefore, the D-sJ*(2860)(-) state previously observed in inclusive e(+)e(-) -> (D) over bar (K-X)-K-0 and pp -> (D) over bar (K-X)-K-0 processes consists of at least two particles. This is the first observation of a heavy flavored spin-3 resonance, and the first time that any spin-3 particle has been seen to be produced in B decays. The masses and widths of the new states and of the D-s2*(2573)(-) meson are measured, giving the most precise determinations to date.

Abstract: Two narrow resonant states are observed in the Λ0bK−π+ mass spectrum using a data sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb−1. The minimal quark content of the Λ0bK−π+ system indicates that these are excited Ξ0b baryons. The masses of the Ξb(6327)0 and Ξb(6333)0 states are m(Ξb(6327)0)=6327.28+0.23−0.21±0.12±0.24 MeV and m(Ξb(6333)0)=6332.69+0.17−0.18±0.03±0.22 MeV, respectively, with a mass splitting of Δm=5.41+0.26−0.27±0.12 MeV, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic and due to the Λ0b mass measurement. The measured natural widths of these states are consistent with zero, with upper limits of Γ(Ξb(6327)0)<2.20 (2.56) MeV and Γ(Ξb(6333)0)<1.60 (1.92) MeV at a 90% (95%) credibility level. The significance of the two-peak hypothesis is larger than nine (five) Gaussian standard deviations compared to the no-peak (one-peak) hypothesis. The masses, widths and resonant structure of the new states are in good agreement with the expectations for a doublet of 1D Ξ0b resonances.

Abstract: We present a search for the direct production of a light pseudoscalar a decaying into two photons with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB collider. We search for the process e(+)e(-) -> gamma a, a -> gamma gamma in the mass range 0.2 < m(a) < 9.7 GeV/c(2) using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of (445 +/- 3) pb(-1). Light pseudoscalars interacting predominantly with standard model gauge bosons (so-called axionlike particles or ALPs) are frequently postulated in extensions of the standard model. We find no evidence for ALPs and set 95% confidence level upper limits on the coupling strength g(a gamma gamma) of ALPs to photons at the level of 10(-3) GeV-1. The limits are the most restrictive to date for 0.2 < m(a) < 1 GeV/c(2).

Abstract: A search is presented for hidden-sector bosons, chi, produced in the decay B-0 -> K*(892)(0)chi, with K*(892)(0) -> K+pi(-) and chi -> mu(+)mu(-). The search is performed using pp-collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. No significant signal is observed in the accessible mass range 214 <= m(chi) <= 4350 MeV, and upper limits are placed on the branching fraction product B(B-0 -> K*(892)(0)chi) X B(chi -> mu(+)mu(-)) as a function of the mass and lifetime of the chi boson. These limits are of the order of 10(-9) for chi lifetimes less than 100 ps over most of the m(chi) range, and place the most stringent constraints to date on many theories that predict the existence of additional low-mass bosons.
