Title An alternative viewpoint on the nuclear structure towards 100Sn: Lifetime measurements in 105Sn Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 845 Issue Pages (down) 138148 - 7pp
Keywords Nuclear structure; gamma-ray spectroscopy; Transition probabilities; Neutron-deficient isotopes; Odd-mass nuclei; Lifetime measurements
Abstract This work aims at presenting an alternative approach to the long standing problem of the B(E2) values in Sn isotopes in the vicinity of the N=Z double-magic nucleus Sn-100, until now predominantly measured with relativistic and intermediate-energy Coulomb excitation reactions. The direct measurement of the lifetime of low-lying excited states in odd-even Sn isotopes provides a new and precise guidance for the theoretical description of the nuclear structure in this region. Lifetime measurements have been performed in Sn-105 for the first time with the coincidence Recoil Distance Doppler Shift technique. The lifetime results for the 7/2(1)(+) first excited state and the 11/2(1)(+) state, 2(+)(Sn-104) circle times nu 1g(7/2) multiplet member, are discussed in comparison with state-of-the-art shell model and mean field calculations, highlighting the crucial contribution of proton excitation across the core of Sn-100. The reduced transition probability B(E2) of the 11/2(1)(+) core-coupled state points out an enhanced staggering with respect to the B(E2; 2(1)(+) -> 0(1)(+)) in the even-mass Sn-104 and Sn-106 isotopes.

Title Gravitational waves from walls bounded by strings in SO(10) model of pseudo-Goldstone dark matter Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 845 Issue Pages (down) 138127 - 5pp
  Keywords
Abstract We explore the gravitational wave spectrum generated by string-wall structures in an SO (10) (Spin(10)) based scenario of pseudo-Goldstone boson dark matter (pGDM) particle. This dark matter candidate is a linear combination of the Standard Model (SM) singlets present in the 126 and 16 dimensional Higgs fields. The Higgs 126-plet vacuum expectation value (VEV) < 126(H)> leaves unbroken the Z(2) subgroup of Z(4), the center of SO (10). Among other things, this yields topologically stable cosmic strings with a string tension μsimilar to < 126(H)>(2). The subsequent (spontaneous) breaking of Z(2) at a significantly lower scale by the 16-plet VEV < 16(H)> leads to the appearance of domain walls bounded by the strings produced earlier. We display the gravitational wave spectrum for G μvalues varying between 10(-15) and 10(-9) (< 126(H)> similar to 10(11) – 10(14) GeV), and < 16(H)> similar to 0.1 – 10(2) TeV range (G denotes Newton's constant.) These predictions can be tested, as we show, by a variety of (proposed) experiments including LISA, ET, CE and others.

Title Light cold dark matter from non-thermal decay Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 845 Issue Pages (down) 138126 - 8pp

Abstract We investigate the mass range and the corresponding free-streaming length scale of dark matter produced non-thermally from decay of heavy objects which can be either dominant or sub-dominant at the moment of decay. We show that the resulting dark matter could be very light well below keV scale with a free-streaming length satisfying the Lyman-alpha constraints. We demonstrate two explicit examples for such light cold dark matter.

Title Drell-Yan lepton-pair production: qT resummation at N4LL accuracy Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 845 Issue Pages (down) 138125 - 12pp
  Keywords
Abstract We consider Drell-Yan lepton pairs produced in hadronic collisions. We present high-accuracy QCD predictions for the transverse-momentum (qT) distribution and fiducial cross sections in the small qT region. We resum to all perturbative orders the logarithmically enhanced contributions up to the next-to-next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (N4LL) accuracy and we include the hard-virtual coefficient at the next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N3LO) (i.e. O(& alpha;3S)) with an approximation of the N4LO coefficients. The massive axial-vector and vector contributions up to three loops have also been consistently included. The resummed partonic cross section is convoluted with approximate N3LO parton distribution functions. We show numerical results at LHC energies of resummed qT distributions for Z/& gamma; *, W & PLUSMN; production and decay, including the W & PLUSMN; and Z/& gamma; * ratio, estimating the corresponding uncertainties from missing higher orders corrections and from incomplete or missing perturbative information coefficients at N4LL and N4LO. Our resummed calculation has been encoded in the public numerical program DYTurbo.

Title One-loop radiative corrections in bumblebee-Stueckelberg model Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 844 Issue Pages (down) 138107 - 9pp
Keywords Bumblebee field; Stueckelberg field; Radiative corrections; Two point function
Abstract This work aims to study the radiative corrections in a vector model with spontaneous Lorentz symmetry violation, known in the literature as the bumblebee model. We consider such a model with self -interaction quadratic smooth potential responsible for spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking. The spectrum of this model displays a transversal nonmassive mode, identified as Nambu-Goldstone, and a massive longitudinal mode. Besides the Lorentz symmetry, this model also exhibits gauge symmetry violation. To restore the gauge symmetry, we introduce the Stueckelberg field and calculate the two -point function by employing the principal-value (PV) prescription. The result is nontransversal, leading to a massive excited mode.
