Abstract: Using a sample of 122 x 10(6) Y(3S) events recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at SLAC, we search for the h(b)(1P) spin-singlet partner of the P-wave X(bJ)(1P) states in the sequential decay Y(3S) -> pi(0)h(b) (1P), hb(1P) -> gamma eta(b)(1S). We observe an excess of events above background in the distribution of the recoil mass against the pi(0) at mass 9902 +/- 4(stat) +/- 2(syst) MeV/c(2). The width of the observed signal is consistent with experimental resolution, and its significance is 3.1 sigma, including systematic uncertainties. We obtain the value (4.3 +/- 1.1(stat) +/- 0.9(syst) x 10(-4) for the product branching fraction B(Y(3S) -> pi(0)h(b)) XB (h(b) -> gamma eta(b))

Abstract: Using a sample of (470.9 +/- 2.8) x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs, we measure the decay branching fraction B(B-0 -> D*(-)pi(+)pi(-)pi(-)) = (7.26 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.31) x 10(-3), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Our measurement will be helpful in studies of lepton universality by measuring B(B-0 -> D*(-)tau(+)nu(tau)) using tau(+) -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)(nu) over bar (tau) decays, normalized to B(B-0 -> D*(-)pi(+)pi(-)pi(-)).

Abstract: A search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decay Lambda(+)(c) -> p mu(+)mu(-) is reported using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb Collaboration. No significant signal is observed outside of the dimuon mass regions around the phi and omega resonances, and an upper limit is placed on the branching fraction of B(Lambda(+ )(c)-> p mu(+)mu(-)) < 7.7(9.6) x 10(-8) at 90%(95%) confidence level. A significant signal is observed in the omega dimuon mass region for the first time.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2014). First Measurement of the Charge Asymmetry in Beauty-Quark Pair Production. Phys. Rev. Lett., 113(8), 082003–9pp.
Abstract: The difference in the angular distributions between beauty quarks and antiquarks, referred to as the charge asymmetry, is measured for the first time in b (b) over bar pair production at a hadron collider. The data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) collected at 7 TeV center-of-mass energy in proton-proton collisions with the LHCb detector. The measurement is performed in three regions of the invariant mass of the b (b) over bar system. The results obtained are A(C)(b (b) over bar) (40 < M-b<(b)over bar> < 75 GeV/c(2)) = 0.4 +/- 0.4 +/- 0.3%, A(C)(b (b) over bar) (75 < M-b<(b)over bar> < 105 GeV/c(2)) = 2.0 +/- 0.9 +/- 0.6%, A(C)(b (b) over bar) (M-b (b) over bar > 10(5) GeV/c(2)) = 1.6 +/- 1.7 +/- 0.6%,where A(C)(b (b) over bar) is defined as the asymmetry in the difference in rapidity between jets formed from the beauty quark and antiquark, where in each case the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The beauty jets are required to satisfy 2 < eta < 4, E-T > 20 GeV, and have an opening angle in the transverse plane Delta phi > 2.6 rad. These measurements are consistent with the predictions of the standard model.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Remon Alepuz, C., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2016). Evidence for Exotic Hadron Contributions to Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi p pi(-) Decays. Phys. Rev. Lett., 117(8), 082003–10pp.
Abstract: A full amplitude analysis of Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi pi(-) decays is performed with a data sample acquired with the LHCb detector from 7 and 8 TeV pp collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). A significantly better description of the data is achieved when, in addition to the previously observed nucleon excitations N -> p pi(-), either the P-c(43800)(+) and P-c(4450)(+) -> J/psi p states, previously observed in Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi pK(-) decays, or the Z(c)(4200)(-) -> J/psi pi(-) state, previously reported in B-0 -> J/psi K+pi(-) decays, or all three, are included in the amplitude models. The data support a model containing all three exotic states, with a significance of more than three standard deviations. Within uncertainties, the data are consistent with the P-c(4380)(+) and P-c(4 450)(+) production rates expected from their previous observation taking account of Cabibbo suppression.
