Abstract |
This paper reports the first measurement of muon neutrino charged-current interactions without pions in the final state using multiple detectors with correlated energy spectra at T2K. The data was collected on hydrocarbon targets using the off-axis T2K near detector (ND280) and the on-axis T2K near detector (INGRID) with neutrino energy spectra peaked at 0.6 GeV and 1.1 GeV, respectively. The correlated neutrino flux presents an opportunity to reduce the impact of the flux uncertainty and to study the energy dependence of neutrino interactions. The extracted double-differential cross sections are compared to several Monte Carlo neutrino-nucleus interaction event generators showing the agreement between both detectors individually and with the correlated result. |

Abstract |
The photon spectrum in B -> X-s gamma decay, where X-s is any strange hadronic state, is studied using a data sample of (382.8 +/- 4.2) x 10(6) e(+)e(-) -> Upsilon(4S) -> B (B) over bar events collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II collider. The spectrum is used to measure the branching fraction B(B -> X-s gamma) (3.21 +/- 0.15 +/- 0.29 +/- 0.08) x 10(-4) and the first, second, and third moments < E-gamma > = 2.267 +/- 0.019 +/- 0.032 +/- 0.003 GeV, <(E-gamma – < E-gamma >)(2)> = 0.0484 +/- 0.0053 +/- 0.0077 +/- 0.0005 GeV2, and <(E-gamma – < E-gamma)(3)> = -0.0048 +/- 0.0011 +/- 0.0011 +/- 0.0004 GeV3, for the range E-gamma > 1.8 GeV, where E-gamma is the photon energy in the B-meson rest frame. Results are also presented for narrower E-gamma ranges. In addition, the direct CP asymmetry A(CP)(B -> Xs+d gamma) is measured to be 0.057 +/- 0.063. The spectrum itself is also unfolded to the B-meson rest frame; that is the frame in which theoretical predictions for its shape are made. |

Abstract |
A search for heavy resonances decaying into a W or Z boson and a Higgs boson produced in proton – proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at root s = 13 TeV is presented. The analysis utilizes the dominant W -> q (q) over bar' or Z -> q (q) over bar and H -> b (b) over bar decays with substructure techniques applied to large-radius jets. A sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1) collected with the ATLAS detector is analyzed and no significant excess of data is observed over the background prediction. The results are interpreted in the context of the heavy vector triplet model with spin-1 W' and Z' bosons. Upper limits on the cross section are set for resonances with mass between 1.5 and 5.0 TeV, ranging from 6.8 to 0.53 fb for W' -> WH and from 8.7 to 0.53 fb for Z' -> ZH at the 95% confidence level. |

Abstract |
The T2K experiment reports updated measurements of neutrino and antineutrino oscillations using both appearance and disappearance channels. This result comes from an exposure of 14.9(16.4) x 10(20) protons on target in neutrino (antineutrino) mode. Significant improvements have been made to the neutrino interaction model and far detector reconstruction. An extensive set of simulated data studies have also been performed to quantify the effect interaction model uncertainties have on the T2K oscillation parameter sensitivity. T2K performs multiple oscillation analyses that present both frequentist and Bayesian intervals for the Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata parameters. For fits including a constraint on sin(2)theta(13) from reactor data and assuming normal mass ordering T2K measures sin(2)theta(13) = 0.53(-0.04)(+0.03) and Delta m(32)(2) = (2.45 +/- 0.07) x 10(-3) eV(2) c(-4). The Bayesian analyses show a weak preference for normal mass ordering 89)% posterior probability) and the upper sin(2)theta(13) octant (80% posterior probability), with a uniform prior probability assumed in both cases. The T2K data exclude CP conservation in neutrino oscillations at the 2 sigma level. |

Abstract |
A study of A(b)(0) baryon decays to the DpK(-) final state is presented based on a proton-proton collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. Two A(b)(0) decays are considered, A(b)(0) -> DpK(-) with D -> K-pi(+) and D -> K+pi(-), where D represents a superposition of D-0 and over bar D-0 states. The latter process is expected to be suppressed relative to the former, and is observed for the first time. The ratio of branching fractions of the two decays is measured, and the CP asymmetry of the suppressed mode, which is sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma, is also reported. |

Abstract |
We report updated branching fraction measurements of the color-suppressed decays (B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0), D*(0)pi(0), D(0)eta, D*(0)eta, D(0)omega, D*(0)omega, D(0)eta', and D*(0)eta'. We measure the branching fractions (x 10(-4)): B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0)) = 2.69 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.13, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0)) = 3.05 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.28, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.53 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.11, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.69 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.23, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.57 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.14, B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)omega) = 4.55 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.39, B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)omega) = 1.48 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.07, and B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)eta') = 1.49 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.15. We also present the first measurement of the longitudinal polarization fraction of the decay channel D*(0)omega, f(L) = (66.5 +/- 4.7 +/- 1.5)%. In the above, the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The results are based on a sample of (454 +/- 5) x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Gamma(4S) resonance, with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage rings at SLAC. The measurements are the most precise determinations of these quantities from a single experiment. They are compared to theoretical predictions obtained by factorization, Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) and perturbative QCD (pQCD). We find that the presence of final state interactions is favored and the measurements are in better agreement with SCET than with pQCD. |

Abstract |
Borexino has been running since May 2007 at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso laboratory in Italy with the primary goal of detecting solar neutrinos. The detector a large unsegmented liquid scintillator calorimeter characterized by unprecedented low levels of intrinsic radioactivity is optimized for the study of the lower energy part of the spectrum. During Phase-I (2007-2010) Borexino first detected and then precisely measured the flux of the Be-7 solar neutrinos ruled out any significant day-night asymmetry of their interaction rate made the first direct observation of the pep neutrinos and set the tightest upper limit on the flux of solar neutrinos produced in the CNO cycle (carbon nitrogen oxigen) where carbon nitrogen and oxygen serve as catalysts in the fusion process. In this paper we discuss the signal signature and provide a comprehensive description of the backgrounds quantify their event rates describe the methods for their identification selection or subtraction and describe data analysis. Key features are an extensive in situ calibration program using radioactive sources the detailed modeling of the detector response the ability to define an innermost fiducial volume with extremely low background via software cuts and the excellent pulse-shape discrimination capability of the scintillator that allows particle identification. We report a measurement of the annual modulation of the Be-7 neutrino interaction rate. The period the amplitude and the phase of the observed modulation are consistent with the solar origin of these events and the absence of their annual modulation is rejected with higher than 99% C.L. The physics implications of Phase-I results in the context of the neutrino oscillation physics and solar models are presented. |

Abstract |
A search is presented for pair production of a new heavy quark (Q) that decays into aW boson and a light quark (q) in the final state where one W boson decays leptonically (to an electron or muon plus a neutrino) and the other W boson decays hadronically. The analysis is performed using an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb(-1) of pp collisions at root s = 8 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. No evidence of Q (Q) over bar production is observed. New chiral quarks with masses below 690 GeVare excluded at 95% confidence level, assuming BR(Q -> Wq) = 1. Results are also interpreted in the context of vectorlike quark models, resulting in the limits on the mass of a vectorlike quark in the two-dimensional plane of BR(Q -> Wq) versus BR(Q -> Hq). |

Abstract |
This paper describes searches for the pair production of first or second generation scalar leptoquarks using 35 pb(-1) of proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at root s = 7 TeV. Leptoquarks are searched in events with two oppositely-charged muons or electrons and at least two jets, and in events with one muon or electron, missing transverse momentum and at least two jets. After event selection, the observed yields are consistent with the predicted backgrounds. Leptoquark production is excluded at the 95% CL for masses M-LQ < 376 (319) GeV and M-LQ < 422 (362) GeV for first and second generation scalar leptoquarks, respectively, when assuming the branching fraction of a leptoquark to a charged lepton is equal to 1.0 (0.5). |

Abstract |
The Z -> tau tau cross section is measured with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in four different final states determined by the decay modes of the tau leptons: muon-hadron, electron-hadron, electron-muon, and muon-muon. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1), at a proton-proton center-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV. Cross sections are measured separately for each final state in fiducial regions of high detector acceptance, as well as in the full phase space, over the mass region 66-116 GeV. The individual cross sections are combined and the product of the total Z production cross section and Z -> tau tau branching fraction is measured to be 0.97 +/- 0.07(stat) +/- 0.06(syst) +/- 0: 03(lumi) nb, in agreement with next-to-next-to-leading order calculations. |
