Abstract |
We study the process J/Psi -> gamma phi omega, measured by the BES experiment, where a neat peak close to the phi omega threshold is observed and is associated to a scalar meson resonance around 1800 MeV. We make the observation that a scalar resonance coupling to phi omega unavoidably couples strongly to K (K) over bar, but no trace of a peak is seen in the K (K) over bar spectrum of the J/Psi -> gamma K (K) over bar at this energy. This serves us to rule out the interpretation of the observed peak as a signal of a new resonance. After this is done, a thorough study is performed on the production of a pair of vector mesons and how its interaction leads necessarily to a peak in the J/Psi -> gamma phi omega reaction close to the phi omega threshold, due to the dynamical generation of the f(0)(1710) resonance by the vector-vector interaction. We then show that both the shape obtained for the phi omega mass distribution, as well as the strength are naturally reproduced by this mechanism. The work also explains why the phi omega peak is observed in the BES experiment and not in other reactions, like B-+/- -> K-+/-phi omega of Belle. |

Abstract |
First observations of the B-S(0) ->psi(2S)eta, B-(s)(0) ->psi(2S)pi(+)pi(-) decays are made using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment in proton proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV. The ratios of the branching fractions of each of the *(2S) modes with respect to the corresponding J/psi decays are B(B-s(0) ->psi(2S)eta)/B(B-s(0) -> J(2S)eta) = 0.83 +/- 0.14 (stat) +/- 0.12 (B), B(B0 ->psi(2S)pi(+)pi(-))/B(B0 -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-)) = 0.56 +/- 0.07 (stat) +/- 0.05 (syst) +/- 0.01 (B), B(B0 ->psi(2S)pi(+)pi(-))/B(B-s(0) -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-)) = 0.34 +/- 0.04 (stat) +/- 0.03 (syst) +/- 0.01 (B). where the third uncertainty corresponds to the uncertainties of the dilepton branching fractions of the J/* and psi(28) meson decays. |

Abstract |
The revival of transfer reaction studies benefited from the construction of the new generation large solid angle spectrometers, coupled to large gamma arrays. The recent results of gamma-particle coincident measurements in Ca-40+Zr-96 and Ar-40+Pb-208 reactions demonstrate a strong interplay between single-particle and collective degrees of freedom that is pertinent to the reaction dynamics. The development of collectivity has been followed in odd Ar isotopes populated in the Ar-40+Pb-208 reaction through the excitation of the 11/2(-) states, understood as the coupling of single particle degrees of freedom to nuclear vibration quanta. Pair transfer modes is another important degree of freedom which is presently being studied with Prisma in inverse kinematics at energies far below the Coulomb barrier. First results from the Zr-96+Ca-40 reaction elucidate the role played by nucleon-nucleon correlation. |

Abstract |
Here we review the current status of global fits to neutrino oscillation data within the three-flavour framework. In our analysis we include the most recent data from solar and atmospheric neutrino experiments as well as the latest results from the long-baseline accelerator neutrino experiments and the recent measurements of reactor neutrino disappearance reported by Double Chooz, Daya Bay and RENO. We present updated determinations for the two neutrino mass splittings and the three mixing angles responsible for neutrino oscillations that, for the first time, have all been measured with 1 sigma accuracies ranging from 3 to 15%. A weak sensitivity for the CP violating phase is also reported from the global analysis. |

Abstract |
In this Letter, we propose interpolating currents for the X(3872) resonance, and show that, in the heavy quark limit of QCD, the X(3872) state should have degenerate partners, independent of its internal structure. Magnitudes of possible I = 0 and I = 1 components of the X(3872) are also discussed. |
