Abstract: The interactions of (D) over bar Sigma(c)-(D) over bar Lambda(c), (D) over bar*Sigma(c)-(D) over bar*Lambda(c), and related strangeness channels, are studied within the framework of the coupled-channel unitary approach with the local hidden gauge formalism. A series of meson-baryon dynamically generated relatively narrow N* and Lambda* resonances are predicted around 4.3 GeV in the hidden charm sector. We make estimates of production cross sections of these predicted resonances in (p) over barp collisions for the experiment of antiproton annihilation at Darmstadt (PANDA) at the forthcoming GSI Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) facility.

Abstract: We analyze the data on cross sections and asymmetries for the pd -> eta He-3 reaction close to threshold and look for bound states of the eta He-3 system. Rather than parameterizing the scattering matrix, as is usually done, we develop a framework in which the eta He-3 optical potential is the key ingredient, and its strength, together with some production parameters, are fitted to the available experimental data. The relationship of the scattering matrix to the optical potential is established using the Bethe-Salpeter equation and the eta He-3 loop function incorporates the range of the interaction given by the empirical He-3 density. We find a local Breit-Wigner form of the eta He-3 amplitude T below threshold with a clear peak in vertical bar T vertical bar(2), which corresponds to an eta He-3 binding of about 0.3 MeV and a width of about 3 MeV. By fitting the potential we can also evaluate the eta He-3 scattering length, including its sign, thus resolving the ambiguity in the former analyses.

Abstract: We show the effects of a triangle singularity mechanism for the gamma p -> K+Lambda(1405) reaction. The mechanism has a N-* resonance around 2030 MeV, which decays into K*Sigma. The K-* decays to K+ pi, and the pi Sigma merge to form the Lambda (1405). This mechanism produces a peak around root s = 2110 MeV, and has its largest contribution around cos theta= 0. The addition of this mechanism to other conventional ones leads to a good reproduction of d sigma/dcos theta and the integrated cross section around this energy, providing a solution to a problem encountered in previous theoretical models.

Abstract: We have performed a calculation of the scattering amplitude for the three-body system (K) over bar NN assuming (K) over bar scattering against a NN cluster using the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equations. The (K) over bar N amplitudes, which we take from chiral unitary dynamics, govern the reaction and we find a (K) over bar NN amplitude that peaks around 40 MeV below the (K) over bar NN threshold, with a width in |T|(2) of the order of 50 MeV for spin 0 and has another peak around 27 MeV with similar width for spin 1. The results are in line with those obtained using different methods but implementing chiral dynamics. The simplicity of the approach allows one to see the important ingredients responsible for the results. In particular, we show the effects from the reduction of the size of the NN cluster due to the interaction with the (K) over bar and those from the explicit consideration of the pi Sigma N channel in the three-body equations.

Abstract: We study here the interaction of D (D) over bar* in the isospin I = 1 channel in light of recent theoretical advances that allow us to combine elements of the local hidden gauge approach with heavy quark spin symmetry. We find that the exchange of light q (q) over bar is Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka (OZI) suppressed and thus we concentrate on the exchange of heavy vectors and of two pion exchange. The latter is found to be small compared to the exchange of heavy vectors, which then determines the strength of the interaction. A barely D (D) over bar* bound state decaying into eta(c)rho and pi J/psi is found. At the same time we reanalyze the data of the BESIII experiment on e(+)e(-) -> pi(+/-)(D (D) over bar*)(-/+), from where a Z(c)(3885) state was claimed, associated to a peak in the (D (D) over bar*)(-/+) invariant mass distribution close to threshold, and we find the data compatible with a resonance with mass around 3875 MeV and width around 30 MeV. We discuss the possibility that this and the Z(c)(3900) state found at BESIII, reconfirmed at 3894 MeV at Belle, or 3885 MeV at CLEO, could all be the same state and correspond to the one that we find theoretically.

Abstract: In this work we study the role of the f(0)(980) and a(0)(980) resonances in the low K+K- and K-0(K) over bar (0) invariant-mass region of the B- -> pi-K+K- and B- -> pi K--(0)(K) over bar (0) reactions. The amplitudes are calculated by using the chiral unitary SU(3) formalism, in which these two resonances are dynamically generated from the unitary pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar coupled-channel approach. The amplitudes are then used as input in the evaluation of the mass distributions with respect to the K+K- and K-0(K) over bar (0) invariant masses, where the contributions coming from the I = 0 and I = 1 components are explicitly assessed. Furthermore, the contribution of the K*(892)K-0(-) production and its influence on the pi K--(+) and K+K- systems are also evaluated, showing that there is no significant strength for small K+K- invariant mass. Finally, the final distributions of M-inv(2) ((KK -/+)-K-+/-) for the B--/+ -> pi(KK -/+)-K--/+-K-+/- reactions are estimated and compared with the LHCb data. Our results indicate that the I = 0 component tied to the f(0)(980) excitation generates the dominant contribution in the range of low K+K- invariant mass.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to investigate an efficient strategy that allows one to obtain pi pi phase shifts and rho meson properties from QCD lattice data with high precision. For this purpose we evaluate the levels of the pi pi system in the rho channel in finite volume using chiral unitary theory. We investigate the dependence on the pi mass and compare this with other approaches which use QCD lattice calculations and effective theories. We also illustrate the errors induced by using the conventional Luscher approach instead of a more accurate one that was recently developed that takes into account exactly the relativistic two-meson propagators. Finally, we make use of this latter approach to solve the inverse problem, getting pi pi phase shifts from “synthetic” lattice data, providing an optimal strategy and showing which accuracy is needed in these data to obtain the rho properties with a desired accuracy.

Abstract: Using the fixed center approximation to Faddeev equations, we investigate the DKK and DK (K) over bar three-body systems, considering that the DK dynamically generates, through its I = 0 component, the D(so)(*()2317) molecule. According to our findings, for the DK (K) over bar interaction we find evidence of a state I(J(p)) = 1/2 (0(-)) just above the D-s0(*)(2317) (K) over bar threshold and around the Df(0)(980) threshold, with mass of about 2833-2858 MeV, made mostly of Df(0)(980). On the other hand, no evidence related to a state from the DKK interaction is found. The state found could be seen in the ppD invariant mass.

Abstract: We perform a study of the (B*+B0), (BB+)-B-*0 correlation functions using an extension of the local hidden gauge approach which provides the interaction from the exchange of light vector mesons and gives rise to a bound state of these components in I = 0 with a binding energy of about 21 MeV. After that, we face the inverse problem of determining the low energy observables, scattering length and effective range for each channel, the possible existence of a bound state, and, if found, the couplings of such a state to each (B*+B0), (BB+)-B-*0 component as well as the molecular probabilities of each of the channels. We use the bootstrap method to determine these magnitudes and find that, with errors in the correlation function typical of present experiments, we can determine all these magnitudes with acceptable precision. In addition, the size of the source function of the experiment from where the correlation functions are measured can be also determined with a high precision.

Abstract: We study the triangle mechanism for the decay tau(-) -> nu(tau)pi(-) f(0)(980) with the f(0)(980) decaying into pi(+) pi(-). The mechanism for this process is initiated by tau(-) -> nu K-tau*(0) K- followed by the K*(0) decay into pi K--(+), then the K- K+ produce the f(0)(980) through a triangle loop containing K* K+ K- which develops a singularity around 1420 MeV in the pi f(0)(980) invariant mass. We find a narrow peak in the pi(+) pi(-) invariant mass distribution, which originates from the f(0)(980) amplitude. Similarly, we also study the triangle mechanism for the decay tau -> nu pi(-) a(0)(980), with the a(0)(980) decaying into pi(0)eta.The formalism leads to final branching ratios for pi(-) f(0)(980) and pi(-) a(0)(980) of the order of 4 x 10(-4) and 7 x 10(-5), respectively, which are within present measurable range. Experimental verification of these predictions will shed light on the nature of the scalar mesons and on the origin of the “a(1)(1420)” peak observed in other reactions.
