Abstract: We study how neutrino oscillations could probe the existence of ultralight bosonic dark matter. Three distinct signatures on neutrino oscillations are identified, depending on the mass of the dark matter and the specific experimental setup. These are time modulation signals, oscillation probability distortions due to fast modulations, and fast varying matter effects. We provide all the necessary information to perform a bottom-up, model-independent experimental analysis to probe such scenarios. Using the future DUNE experiment as an example, we estimate its sensitivity to ultralight scalar dark matter. Our results could be easily used by any other oscillation experiment.

Abstract: The Cabibbo-suppressed decay Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c1)p(-) is observed for the first time using data from proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Evidence for the Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c2)p(-) decay is also found. Abstract: A search for the B-s(0) -> D*(+/-) D--/+ decay is performed using proton-proton collision data at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13TeV collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). The decay is observed with a high significance and its branching fraction relative to the B-0 -> D*(+/-) D--/+ decay is measured to be B(B-s(0) -> D*D-+/-(-/+))/B(B-0 -> D*D-+/-(-/+)) = 0.137 +/- 0.017 +/- 0.002 +/- 0.006, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third is due to the uncertainty on the ratio of the B-s(0) and B-0 hadronisation fractions.

Abstract: For nearly a century, studying cosmic-ray air showers has driven progress in our understanding of elementary particle physics. In this work, we revisit the production of millicharged particles in these atmospheric showers and provide new constraints for XENON1T and Super-Kamiokande and new sensitivity estimates of current and future detectors, such as JUNO. We discuss distinct search strategies, specifically studies of single-energy-deposition events, where one electron in the detector receives a relatively large energy transfer, as well as multiple-scattering events consisting of (at least) two relatively small energy depositions. We demonstrate that these atmospheric search strategies especially the multiple-scattering signature – provide significant room for improvement beyond existing searches, in a way that is complementary to anthropogenic, beam-based searches for MeV-GeV millicharged particles. Finally, we also discuss the implementation of a Monte Carlo simulation for millicharged particle detection in large-volume neutrino detectors, such as IceCube.

Abstract: The study of high-energy gamma rays from passive giant molecular clouds (GMCs) in our Galaxy is an indirect way to characterize and probe the paradigm of the “sea” of cosmic rays in distant parts of the Galaxy. By using data from the High Altitude Water Cerenkov (HAWC) Observatory, we measure the gamma-ray flux above 1 TeV of a set of these clouds to test the paradigm. We selected high galactic latitude clouds that are in HAWC's field of view and that are within 1 kpc distance from the Sun. We find no significant excess emission in the cloud regions, nor when we perform a stacked log-likelihood analysis of GMCs. Using a Bayesian approach, we calculate 95% credible interval upper limits of the gamma-ray flux and estimate limits on the cosmic-ray energy density of these regions. These are the first limits to constrain gamma-ray emission in the multi-TeV energy range (>1 TeV) using passive high galactic latitude GMCs. Assuming that the main gamma-ray production mechanism is due to proton-proton interaction, the upper limits are consistent with a cosmic-ray flux and energy density similar to that measured at Earth.
