BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., & Oyanguren, A. (2015). Measurement of initial-state-final-state radiation interference in the processes e(+)e(-) -> mu(+)mu(-)gamma and e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)gamma. Phys. Rev. D, 92(7), 072015–29pp.
Abstract: Charge asymmetry in the processes e(+)e(-) -> mu(+)mu(-)gamma and e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)gamma is measured using 232 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at e(+)e(-) center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV. An observable is introduced and shown to be very robust against detector asymmetries while keeping a large sensitivity to the physical charge asymmetry that results from the interference between initial-and final-state radiation (FSR). The asymmetry is determined as a function of the invariant mass of the final-state tracks from production threshold to a few GeV/c(2). It is compared to the expectation from QED for e(+)e(-) -> mu(+)mu(-)gamma, and from theoretical models for e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)gamma. A clear interference pattern is observed in e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)gamma, particularly in the vicinity of the f(2)(1270) resonance. The inferred rate of lowest-order FSR production is consistent with the QED expectation for e(+)e(-) -> mu(+)mu(-)gamma, and is negligibly small for e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)gamma.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., & Villanueva-Perez, P. (2015). Study of CP Asymmetry in B-0-(B)over-bar(0) Mixing with Inclusive Dilepton Events. Phys. Rev. Lett., 114(8), 081801–8pp.
Abstract: We present a measurement of the asymmetry A(CP) between same- sign inclusive dilepton samples l(+) l(+) and l(-) l(-) ( l = e, mu) from semileptonic B decays in Y(4S) -> B (B) over bar events, using the complete data set recorded by the BABAR experiment near the Y(4S) resonance, corresponding to 471 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs. The asymmetry A(CP) allows comparison between the mixing probabilities P((B) over bar (0) -> B-0) and P(B-0 -> (B) over bar (0)) and therefore probes CP and T violation. The result, A(CP) = [-3.9 +/- 3.5(stat) +/- 1.9(syst)] x 10(-3), is consistent with the standard model expectation.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., & Oyanguren, A. (2019). Observation of the Decay D-0 -> K- pi(+) e(+) e(-). Phys. Rev. Lett., 122(8), 081802–8pp.
Abstract: We report the observation of the rare charm decay D-0 -> K-pi(+)e(+)e(-), based on 468 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) annihilation data collected at or close to the center-of-mass energy of the (sic)(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find the branching fraction in the invariant mass range 0.675 < m(e(+)e(-)) < 0.875 GeV/c(2) of the electron-positron pair to be B(D-0 -> K-pi(+)e(+)e(-)) = (4.0 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.2 +/- 0.1) x 10(-6), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third due to the uncertainty in the branching fraction of the decay D-0 -> K-pi(+)pi(+)pi(-) used as a normalization mode. The significance of the observation corresponds to 9.7 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. This result is consistent with the recently reported D-0 -> K-pi(+)mu(+)mu(-) branching fraction, measured in the same invariant mass range, and with the value expected in the standard model. In a set of regions of m(e(+)e(-)), where long-distance effects are potentially small, we determine a 90% confidence level upper limit on the branching fraction B(D-0 -> K-pi(+)e(+)e(-)) < 3.1 x 10(-6).

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Lopez-March, N., Martinez-Vidal, F., & Oyanguren, A. (2011). Evidence for the h(b)(1P) meson in the decay Y(3S) -> pi(0)h(b)(1P). Phys. Rev. D, 84(9), 091101–8pp.
Abstract: Using a sample of 122 x 10(6) Y(3S) events recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at SLAC, we search for the h(b)(1P) spin-singlet partner of the P-wave X(bJ)(1P) states in the sequential decay Y(3S) -> pi(0)h(b) (1P), hb(1P) -> gamma eta(b)(1S). We observe an excess of events above background in the distribution of the recoil mass against the pi(0) at mass 9902 +/- 4(stat) +/- 2(syst) MeV/c(2). The width of the observed signal is consistent with experimental resolution, and its significance is 3.1 sigma, including systematic uncertainties. We obtain the value (4.3 +/- 1.1(stat) +/- 0.9(syst) x 10(-4) for the product branching fraction B(Y(3S) -> pi(0)h(b)) XB (h(b) -> gamma eta(b))

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., & Oyanguren, A. (2016). Measurement of the B-0 -> D*(-)pi(+)pi(-)pi(+) branching fraction. Phys. Rev. D, 94(9), 091101–7pp.
Abstract: Using a sample of (470.9 +/- 2.8) x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs, we measure the decay branching fraction B(B-0 -> D*(-)pi(+)pi(-)pi(-)) = (7.26 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.31) x 10(-3), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Our measurement will be helpful in studies of lepton universality by measuring B(B-0 -> D*(-)tau(+)nu(tau)) using tau(+) -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)(nu) over bar (tau) decays, normalized to B(B-0 -> D*(-)pi(+)pi(-)pi(-)).
