Abstract: Associated production of bottomonia and open charm hadrons in pp collisions at root s = 7 and 8 TeV is observed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) accumulated with the LHCb detector. The observation of five combinations, Y(1S)D-0, Y(2S)D-0, Y(1S)D+, Y(2S)D+ and Y(1S)D (s) (+) , is reported. Production crosssections are measured for Y(1S)D-0 and Y(1S)D+ pairs in the forward region. The measured cross-sections and the differential distributions indicate the dominance of double parton scattering as the main production mechanism.

Abstract: Using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected in pp collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, the B (s) (0) -> aEuro parts per thousand I center dot I center dot branching fraction is measured to be B(B-0 -> phi phi) = (1.84 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.07 (syst) +/- 0.11 (f(s)/f(d)) +/- 0.12 (norm)) x 10(-5) where f (s) /f (d) represents the ratio of the B (s) (0) to B (0) production cross-sections, and the B (0) -> I center dot K (*)(892)(0) decay mode is used for normalization. This is the most precise measurement of this branching fraction to date, representing a factor five reduction in the statistical uncertainty compared with the previous best measurement. A search for the decay B (0) -> I center dot I center dot is also made. No signal is observed, and an upper limit on the branching fraction is set as B(B-0 -> phi phi < 2.8 x 10(-8)) at 90% confidence level. This is a factor of seven improvement compared to the previous best limit.

Abstract: Mesons comprising a beauty quark and strange quark can oscillate between particle (B-s(0)) and antiparticle (B-s(-0)) flavour eigenstates, with a frequency given by the mass difference between heavy and light mass eigenstates, Delta m(s). Here we present a measurement of Delta m(s) using B-s(0) -> D-s(-)pi(+) decays produced in proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The oscillation frequency is found to be Delta m(s) = 17.7683 +/- 0.0051 +/- 0.0032 ps(-1), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This measurement improves on the current Delta m(s) precision by a factor of two. We combine this result with previous LHCb measurements to determine Delta m(s) = 17.7656 +/- 0.0057 ps(-1), which is the legacy measurement of the original LHCb detector.

Abstract: The time-integrated CP asymmetry in the decay D-0 -> (KSKS0)-K-0 is measured using 3 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at centreof- mass energies of 7 and 8TeV. The flavour of the D-0 meson is determined by use of the decay D*(+) -> D-0 pi(+) and its charge conjugate mode. The result is A(CP) = -0.029 +/- 0.052 +/- 0.022, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The result is consistent with Standard Model expectations and improves the uncertainty with respect to the only previous measurement of this quantity by more than a factor of three.

Abstract: A test of lepton universality, performed by measuring the ratio of the branching fractions of the B-0 -> K*(0)mu(+) mu(-) and B-0 -> K*e(+)e(-) decays, R-K*0, is presented. The K*(0) meson is reconstructed in the final state K+pi(-), which is required to have an invariant mass within 100 MeV/c(2) of the known K*(892)(0) mass. The analysis is performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 3 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The ratio is measured in two regions of the dilepton invariant mass squared, q(2), to be R-K*0 – {0.66(-0.007)(+0.11)(stat) +/- 0.03(syst) for 0.045 < q(2) < GeV2/c(4), 0.69(-0.07)(+0.11)(stat) +/- 0.05(syst) for 1.1 < q(2) < 6.0 GeV2/c(4). The corresponding 95.4% confidence level intervals are [0.52, 0.89] and [0.53, 0.94]. The results, which represent the most precise measurements of R-K*0 to date, are compatible with the Standard Model expectations at the level of 2.1-2.3 and 2.4-2.5 standard deviations in the two q(2) regions, respectively.
