Abstract |
A search for a pair of neutral, scalar bosons with each decaying into two W bosons is presented using 36.1 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. This search uses three production models: non-resonant and resonant Higgs boson pair production and resonant production of a pair of heavy scalar particles. Three final states, classified by the number of leptons, are analysed: two same-sign leptons, three leptons, and four leptons. No significant excess over the expected Standard Model backgrounds is observed. An observed (expected) 95% confidence-level upper limit of 160 (120) times the Standard Model prediction of non-resonant Higgs boson pair production cross-section is set from a combined analysis of the three final states. Upper limits are set on the production cross-section times branching ratio of a heavy scalar X decaying into a Higgs boson pair in the mass range of 260 GeV m(X) 500 GeV and the observed (expected) limits range from 9.3 (10) pb to 2.8 (2.6) pb. Upper limits are set on the production cross-section times branching ratio of a heavy scalar X decaying into a pair of heavy scalars S for mass ranges of 280 GeV m(X) 340 GeV and 135 GeV m(S) 165 GeV and the observed (expected) limits range from 2.5 (2.5) pb to 0.16 (0.17) pb. |

Abstract |
A search for the Xi(++)(cc) baryon through the Xi(++)(cc) -> D(+)pK(-)pi(+) decay is performed with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb(-1) recorded by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant signal is observed in the mass range from the kinematic threshold of the decay to 3800 MeV/c(2). An upper limit is set on the ratio of branching fractions R = B(Xi(++)(cc) -> D(+)pK(-)pi(+))/B(Xi(++)(cc) -> A(c)(+) K- pi(+)pi(+)) with R < 1.7 (2.1) x 10(-2) at the 90% (95%) confidence level at the known mass of the Xi(++)(cc) state. |

Abstract |
Single top-quark production in association with a Z boson, where the Z boson decays to a pair of charged leptons, is measured in the trilepton channel. The proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment from 2015 to 2018 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1). Events containing three isolated charged leptons (electrons or muons) and two or three jets, one of which is identified as containing a b-hadron, are selected. The main backgrounds are from t (t) over barZ and diboson production. Neural networks are used to improve the background rejection and extract the signal. The measured cross-section for tl(+)l(-) q production, including non-resonant dilepton pairs with m(l+l-) > 30 GeV, is 97 +/- 13 (stat.) +/- 7 (syst.) fb, consistent with the Standard Model prediction. |

Abstract |
The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) Gamma-Ray Observatory surveys the very high-energy sky in the 300 GeV to >100 TeV energy range. HAWC has detected two blazars above 11 sigma, Markarian 421 (Mrk 421) and Markarian 501 (Mrk 501). The observations are comprised of data taken in the period between 2015 June and 2018 July, resulting in similar to 1038 days of exposure. In this work, we report the time-averaged spectral analyses for both sources, above 0.5 TeV. Taking into account the flux attenuation due to the extragalactic background light, the intrinsic spectrum of Mrk 421 is described by a power law with an exponential energy cutoff with index alpha = 2.26 +/- (0.12)(stat)((+0.17)(-0.2))(sys) and energy cutoff E-c = 5.1 +/- (1.6)(stat)((+1.4)(-2.5))(sys) TeV, while the intrinsic spectrum of Mrk 501 is better described by a simple power law with index alpha = 2.61 +/- (0.11)(stat)((+)(0.01)(-0.07))(sys). The maximum energies at which the Mrk 421 and Mrk 501 signals are detected are 9 and 12 TeV, respectively. This makes these some of the highest energy detections to date for spectra averaged over years-long timescales. Since the observation of gamma radiation from blazars provides information about the physical processes that take place in their relativistic jets, it is important to study the broadband spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of these objects. For this purpose, contemporaneous data in the gamma-ray band to the X-ray range, and literature data in the radio to UV range, were used to build time-averaged SEDs that were modeled within a synchrotron-self Compton leptonic scenario. |

Abstract |
A search for high-mass charged and neutral bosons decaying to W gamma and Z gamma final states is presented in this paper. The analysis uses a data sample of root s = 13TeV proton-proton collisions with an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1) collected by the ATLAS detector during LHC Run 2 operation. The sensitivity of the search is determined using models of the production and decay of spin-1 charged bosons and spin-0/2 neutral bosons. The range of resonance masses explored extends from 1.0TeV to 6.8TeV. At these high resonance masses, it is beneficial to target the hadronic decays of the W and Z bosons because of their large branching fractions. The decay products of the high-momentum W/Z bosons are strongly collimated and boosted-boson tagging techniques are employed to improve the sensitivity. No evidence of a signal above the Standard Model backgrounds is observed, and upper limits on the production cross-sections of these bosons times their branching fractions to W gamma and Z gamma are derived for various boson production models. |

Abstract |
Dark matter (DM) interacting with the SM fields via a Z-boson (Z-portal') remains one of the most attractive WIMP scenarios, both from the theoretical and the phenomenological points of view. In order to avoid the strong constraints from direct detection and dilepton production, it is highly convenient that the Z has axial coupling to DM and leptophobic couplings to the SM particles, respectively. The latter implies that the associated U(1) coincides with baryon number in the SM sector. In this paper we completely classify the possible anomaly-free leptophobic Z with minimal dark sector, including the cases where the coupling to DM is axial. The resulting scenario is very predictive and perfectly viable from the present constraints from DM detection, EW observables and LHC data (di-lepton, di-jet and mono-jet production). We analyze all these constraints, obtaining the allowed areas in the parameter space, which generically prefer mZ less than or similar to 500 GeV, apart from resonant regions. The best chances to test these viable areas come from future LHC measurements. |

Abstract |
A search for CP violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed D-0 K+K-+- decay mode is performed using an amplitude analysis. The measurement uses a sample of pp collisions recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1). The D-0 mesons are reconstructed from semileptonic b-hadron decays into D0-X final states. The selected sample contains more than 160 000 signal decays, allowing the most precise amplitude modelling of this D-0 decay to date. The obtained amplitude model is used to perform the search for CP violation. The result is compatible with CP symmetry, with a sensitivity ranging from 1% to 15% depending on the amplitude considered. |

Using pp collisions corresponding to 3 fb integrated luminosity, recorded by the LHCb experiment at centre- of- mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, the ratio of branching fractions B (0b ! (2 S) ) =B (0b ! J= ) = 0 : 513 0 : 023 (stat) 0 : 016 (syst) 0 : 011 (B) is determined. The first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the external branching fractions used. |

Abstract |
Precision measurements in allowed nuclear beta decays and neutron decay are reviewed and analyzed both within the Standard Model and looking for new physics. The analysis incorporates the most recent experimental and theoretical developments. The results are interpreted in terms of Wilson coefficients describing the effective interactions between leptons and nucleons (or quarks) that are responsible for beta decay. New global fits are performed incorporating a comprehensive list of precision measurements in neutron decay, superallowed 0(+)-> 0(+) transitions, and other nuclear decays that include, for the first time, data from mirror beta transitions. The results confirm the V-A character of the interaction and translate into updated values for V-ud and g(A) at the 10(-4) level. We also place new stringent limits on exotic couplings involving left-handed and right-handed neutrinos, which benefit significantly from the inclusion of mirror decays in the analysis. |
