Abstract: Bose-Einstein correlations of same-sign charged pions, produced in proton-proton collisions at a 7TeV centre-of-mass energy, are studied using a data sample collected by the LHCb experiment. The signature for Bose-Einstein correlations is observed in the form of an enhancement of pairs of like-sign charged pions with small four-momentum difference squared. The charged-particle multiplicity dependence of the Bose-Einstein correlation parameters describing the correlation strength and the size of the emitting source is investigated, determining both the correlation radius and the chaoticity parameter. The measured correlation radius is found to increase as a function of increasing charged-particle multiplicity, while the chaoticity parameter is seen to decrease.

Abstract: The production of B +/- mesons is studied in pp collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 13 TeV, using B-+/- -> J/psi K-+/- decays and data samples corresponding to 1.0 fb(-1) and 0.3 fb(-1), respectively. The production cross-sections summed over both charges and integrated over the transverse momentum range 0 < pT < 40 GeV/c and the rapidity range 2.0 < y < 4.5 are measured to be sigma-(pp -> B-+/- X, root s = 7 TeV) = 43.0 +/- 0.2 +/- 2.5 +/- 1.7 μb, sigma(pp -> B-+/- X, root s = 13 TeV) = 86.6 +/- 0.5 +/- 5.4 +/- 3.4 μb, where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are due to the limited knowledge of the B-+/- -> J/psi K-+/- branching fraction. The ratio of the cross-section at 13 TeV to that at 7 TeV is determined to be 2.02 +/- 0.02 (stat) +/- 0.12 (syst). Differential cross-sections are also reported as functions of pi, and y. All results are in agreement with theoretical calculations based on the state-of-art fixed next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics.

Abstract: An amplitude analysis of B-0 ((+-))(K+-) decays is performed in the two-body invariant mass regions 300 < m((+-)) < 1100 MeV/c(2), accounting for the (0), , f(0)(500), f(0)(980) and f(0)(1370) resonances, and 750 < m(K+-) < 1200 MeV/c(2), which is dominated by the K-*(892)(0) meson. The analysis uses 3 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The CP averages and asymmetries are measured for the magnitudes and phase differences of the con- tributing amplitudes. The CP-averaged longitudinal polarisation fractions of the vector-vector modes are found to be fK*0 = 0.164 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.022 and fK*0 = 0.68 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.16, and their CP asymmetries, AK*0 = -0.62 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.09 and AK*0 = -0.13 +/- 0.27 +/- 0.13, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Abstract: A precision measurement of the Z boson production cross-section at root s = 13 TeV in the forward region is presented, using pp collision data collected by the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.1 fb(-1). The production cross-section is measured using Z -> mu(+)mu(-) events within the fiducial region defined as pseudorapidity 2.0 < eta < 4.5 and transverse momentum p(T) > 20 GeV/c for both muons and dimuon invariant mass 60 < M-mu μ< 120 GeV/c(2). The integrated cross-section is determined to be sigma(Z -> mu(+)mu(-)) = 196.4 +/- 0.2 +/- 1.6 +/- 3.9 pb, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is due to the luminosity determination. The measured results are in agreement with theoretical predictions within uncertainties.

Abstract: An angular analysis of Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi Lambda decays is performed using a data sample corresponding to 1.0 fb(-1) collected in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV with the LHCb detector at the LHC. A parity violating asymmetry parameter characterising the Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi Lambda decay of 0.05 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.07 and a Lambda(0)(b) transverse production polarisation of 0.06 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.02 are measured, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Abstract: The charmless three-body decays B-(s)(0) -> K(S)(0)h(+)h '(-) (where h((')) – pi, K) are analysed using a sample of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). Abstract: Using proton-proton collision data, collected with the LHCb detector and corresponding to 1.0, 2.0 and 1.9 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity at the centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, respectively, the decay Lambda(0)(b) -> chi(c1)(3872)pK(-) with chi(c1)(3872) -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-) is observed for the first time. The significance of the observed signal is in excess of seven standard deviations. It is found that (58 +/- 15)% of the decays proceed via the two-body intermediate state chi(c1)(3872)Lambda(1520). The branching fraction with respect to that of the Lambda(0)(b) -> psi(2S)pK(-) decay mode, where the psi(2S) meson is reconstructed in the J/psi pi(+)pi(-) final state, is measured to be: B(Lambda(0)(b) -> chi(c1)(3872)pK(-))/B (Lambda(0)(b) -> psi(2S)pK(-)) x B(chi(c1)(3872) -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-))/B(psi(2S) -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-)) = (5.4 +/- 1.1 +/- 0.2) x 10(-2), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

Abstract: The difference in total widths between the B-c(+) and B+ mesons is measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment in 7 and 8 TeV centre-of-mass energy proton-proton collisions at the LHC. Through the study of the time evolution of B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) and B+ -> J/psi K+ decays, the width difference is measured to be Delta Gamma = Gamma(Bc+) – Gamma(Bc+) = 4.46 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.07 mm(-1) c, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The known lifetime of the B+ meson is used to convert this to a precise measurement of the B-c(+) clifetime, tau(Bc+) = 513.4 +/- 11.0 +/- 5.7 fs, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

Abstract: The suppressed decay Lambda(0)(b) -> p pi(-) mu(+) mu(-), excluding the J/psi and psi(2S) -> mu(+) mu(-) resonances, is observed for the first time with a significance of 5.5 standard deviations. The analysis is performed with proton- proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb experiment. The Lambda(0)(b) -> p pi(-) mu(+) mu(-) branching fraction is measured relative to the Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi (-> mu(+) mu(-)) p pi(-) branching fraction giving B (Lambda(0)(b) -> p pi(-) mu(+) mu(-))/B(Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi (-> mu(+) mu(-)) p pi(-)) = 0.044 +/- 0.012 +/- 0.007, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This is the first observation of a b -> d transition in a baryonic decay.

Abstract: The first observation of Z boson production in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per proton-nucleon pair of root(s) N N = 5TeV is presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.6 nb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. The Z candidates are reconstructed from pairs of oppositely charged muons with pseudorapidities between 2.0 and 4.5 and transverse momenta above 20 GeV/c. The invariant dimuon mass is restricted to the range 60-120 GeV/c. The Z production cross-section is measured to be sigma(Z ->mu+mu-) (fwd) = 13.5(-4.0)(+5.4)(stat.) +/- 1.2(syst.) nb in the direction of the proton beam and sigma(Z ->mu+mu-) (bwd) = 10.7(-5.1)(+8.4)(stat.) +/- 1.0(syst.) nb in the direction of the lead beam, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
