Abstract: The AGATA collaboration has a long-standing leadership in the development of front-end electronics for high resolution ?-ray spectroscopy using large volume high purity germanium detectors. For two decades, the AGATA collaboration has been developing state-of-the-art digital electronics processing with high resolution sampling ADC, high-speed signal transfer and fast readout to a high throughput computing (HTC) farm for on-line pulse shape analysis. The collaboration is presently addressing the next challenge of equipping a 4p array with more than 6000 channels in high resolution mode, generating approximately 10 MHz of total trigger requests, coupled to a large variety of complementary instruments. A next generation of front-end electronics, presently under design, is based on industrial products (System on Module FPGA's), has higher integration and lower power consumption. In this contribution, the conceptual design of the new electronics is presented. The results of the very first tests of the pre-production electronics are presented as well as future perspectives.

Abstract: This paper describes a search for dark photons (gamma(d)) in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13TeV at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The dark photons are searched for in the decay of Higgs bosons ( H -> gamma gamma(d)) produced through the ZH production mode. The transverse mass of the system, made of the photon and the missing transverse momentum from the non-interacting gamma(d), presents a distinctive signature as it peaks near the Higgs boson mass. The results presented use the total Run-2 integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1) recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The dominant reducible background processes are estimated using data-driven techniques. A Boosted Decision Tree technique is adopted to enhance the sensitivity of the search. As no excess is observed with respect to the Standard Model prediction, an observed (expected) upper limit on the branching ratio BR( H -> gamma gamma(d)) of 2.28% (2.82(-0.84%)(+1.33)) is set at 95% CL for massless gamma(d). For massive dark photons up to 40 GeV, the observed (expected) upper limits on BR( H -> gamma gamma(d)) at 95% confidence level is found within the [2.19,2.52]% ([2.71,3.11]%) range.

Abstract: The inclusive top-quark pair ( t (t) over bar) production cross-section sigma(t (t) over bar) is measured in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy root s = 5.02TeV, using 257 pb(-1) of data collected in 2017 by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The t (t) over bar cross-section is measured in both the dilepton and single-lepton final states of the t<overline> t system and then combined. The combination of the two measurements yields sigma(t (t) over bar) = 67.5 +/- 0.9 (stat.) +/- 2.3 (syst.) +/- 1.1 (lumi.) +/- 0.2 (beam) pb, where the four uncertainties reflect the limited size of the data sample, experimental and theoretical systematic effects, and imperfect knowledge of both the integrated luminosity and the LHC beam energy, giving a total uncertainty of 3.9%. The result is in agreement with theoretical quantum chromodynamic calculations at next-to-next-to-leading order in the strong coupling constant, including the resummation of next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic soft-gluon terms, and constrains the parton distribution functions of the proton at large Bjorken-x.

Abstract: The CKM angle gamma is determined from CP-violating observables measured in B-+/- -> D[K--/+pi(+/-)pi(+/-)pi(-/+)]h(+/-), (h = K, pi) decays, where the measurements are performed in bins of the decay phase-space of the D meson. Using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1), gamma is determined to be gamma = (54.8 (+6.0)(-5.8) (+0.6)(-0.6) (+6.7)(-4.3))degrees, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third from the external inputs on the coherence factors and strong phases of the D-meson decays.

Abstract: Differential and double-differential distributions of kinematic variables of leptons from decays of top-quark pairs (t (t) over bar) are measured using the full LHC Run 2 data sample collected with the ATLAS detector. The data were collected at a pp collision energy of root s = 13TeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb(-1). The measurements use events containing an oppositely charged e μpair and b-tagged jets. The results are compared with predictions from several Monte Carlo generators. While no prediction is found to be consistent with all distributions, a better agreement with measurements of the lepton p(T) distributions is obtained by reweighting the t (t) over bar sample so as to reproduce the top-quark p(T) distribution from an NNLO calculation. The inclusive top-quark pair production cross-section is measured as well, both in a fiducial region and in the full phase-space. The total inclusive cross-section is found to be sigma(t (t) over bar) = 829 +/- 1 (stat) +/- 13 (syst) +/- 8 (lumi) +/- 2 (beam) pb, where the uncertainties are due to statistics, systematic effects, the integrated luminosity and the beam energy. This is in excellent agreement with the theoretical expectation.
