Title First branching fraction measurement of the suppressed decay Xi(0)(c) -> pi(-) Lambda(+)(c) Type Journal Article
Year 2020 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 102 Issue 7 Pages 071101 - 11pp
  Keywords
Abstract The Xi(0)(c) baryon is unstable and usually decays into charmless final states by the c -> sud transition. It can, however, also disintegrate into a pi(-) meson and a Lambda(+)(c) baryon via s quark decay or via cs -> dc weak scattering. The interplay between the latter two processes governs the size of the branching fraction B(Xi(0)(c) -> pi(-) Lambda(+)(c)), first measured here to be (0.55 +/- 0.02 +/- 0.18)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and second systematic. This result is compatible with the larger of the theoretical predictions that connect models of hyperon decays using partially conserved axial currents and SU(3) symmetry with those involving the heavy-quark expansion and heavy-quark symmetry. In addition, the branching fraction of the normalization channel, B(Xi(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+)) = (1.135 +/- 0.002 +/- 0.387)% is measured.

Title Study of the lineshape of the chi(c1) (3872) state Type Journal Article
Year 2020 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 102 Issue 9 Pages 092005 - 20pp
  Keywords
Abstract A study of the lineshape of the chi(c1) (3872) state is made using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) collected in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV with the LHCb detector. Candidate chi(c1)(3872) and psi(2S) mesons from b-hadron decays are selected in the J/psi pi(+)pi(-) decay mode. Describing the lineshape with a Breit-Wigner function, the mass splitting between the chi(c1 )(3872) and psi(2S) states, Delta m, and the width of the chi(c1 )(3872) state, Gamma(Bw), are determined to be (Delta m=185.598 +/- 0.067 +/- 0.068 Mev,)(Gamma BW=1.39 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.10 Mev,) where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. Using a Flatte-inspired model, the mode and full width at half maximum of the lineshape are determined to be (mode=3871.69+0.00+0.05 MeV.)(FWHM=0.22-0.04+0.13+0.07+0.11-0.06-0.13 MeV, ) An investigation of the analytic structure of the Flatte amplitude reveals a pole structure, which is compatible with a quasibound D-0(D) over bar*(0) state but a quasivirtual state is still allowed at the level of 2 standard deviations.

Title Measurement of the relative branching fractions of B+ -> h(+) h('+) h('-) decays Type Journal Article
Year 2020 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 102 Issue 11 Pages 112010 - 19pp
  Keywords
Abstract The relative branching fractions of B+ -> h(+)h('+)h('-) decays, where h((')) is a pion or kaon, are measured. The analysis is performed with a data sample, collected with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collisions. The results obtained improve significantly on previous measurements of these quantities, and are important for the interpretation of Dalitz plot analyses of three-body charmless hadronic decays of B+ mesons.

Year 2020 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 102 Issue 11 Pages 112012 - 12pp
  Keywords
Abstract The decay Lambda(0)(b) -> eta(c) (1S)pK(- )is observed for the first time using a data sample of proton-proton collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.5 fb I, collected with the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The branching fraction of the decay is measured, using the Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi pK(-) decay as a normalization mode, to be B(Lambda(0)(b) -> eta(c) (1S)pK(-)) = (1.06 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.06(-019)(+0.22)) x 10(-4), where the quoted uncertainties are statistical, systematic and due to external inputs, respectively. A study of the eta(c)(1S)p mass spectrum is performed to search for the P-c(4312)(+) pentaquark state. No evidence is B(Lambda(0)(b) -> P-c(4312)K-+(-))xB(P-c(4312)(+)-> eta(c)(1S)p)/B(Lambda(0)(b) -> eta(c) (1S)pK(-)) < 0.24( ) observed and an upper limit of < 0.24 is obtained at the 95% confidence level.

Title Amplitude analysis of the B+ -> D+D-K+ decay Type Journal Article
Year 2020 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 102 Issue 11 Pages 112003 - 32pp
  Keywords
Abstract Results are reported from an amplitude analysis of the B+ -> D+D-K+ decay. The analysis is carried out using LHCb proton-proton collision data taken at root s = 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). In order to obtain a good description of the data, it is found to be necessary to include new spin-0 and spin-1 resonances in the D-K+ channel with masses around 2.9 GeV/c(2), and a new spin-0 charmonium resonance in proximity to the spin-2 chi(c2)(3930) state.

Title Dynamical scoto-seesaw mechanism with gauged B – L symmetry Type Journal Article
Year 2024 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 109 Issue 3 Pages 035023 - 17pp
  Keywords
Abstract We propose a dynamical scoto-seesaw mechanism using a gauged B – L symmetry. Dark matter is reconciled with neutrino mass generation, in such a way that the atmospheric scale arises a la seesaw, while the solar scale is scotogenic, arising radiatively from the exchange of “dark” states. This way we “explain” the solar-to-atmospheric scale ratio. The TeV-scale seesaw mediator and the two dark fermions carry different B – L charges. Dark matter stability follows from the residual matter parity that survives B – L breaking. Besides having collider tests, the model implies sizable charged lepton flavor violating (cLFV) phenomena, including Goldstone boson emission processes.

Year 2020 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 102 Issue 1 Pages 015022 - 11pp
  Keywords
Abstract We propose the simplest TeV-scale scotogenic extension of the original 3-3-1 theory, where dark matter stability is linked to the Dirac nature of neutrinos, which results from an unbroken B – L gauge symmetry. The new gauge bosons get masses through the interplay of spontaneous symmetry breaking a la Higgs and the Stueckelberg mechanism.

Title Radiative corrections to scalar masses and mixing in a scale invariant two Higgs doublet model Type Journal Article
Year 2012 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 86 Issue 3 Pages 035004 - 14pp
  Keywords
Abstract We study the Higgs boson mass spectrum of a classical scale invariant realization of the two Higgs doublet model (SI-2HDM). The classical scale symmetry of the theory is explicitly broken by quantum loop effects due to gauge interactions, Higgs self-couplings and top quark Yukawa couplings. We determine the allowed parameter space compatible with perturbative unitarity and electroweak precision data. Taking into account the LEP and the recent LHC exclusion limits on a standard-model-like Higgs boson HSM, we obtain rather strict constraints on the mass spectrum of the heavy Higgs sector of the SI-2HDM. In particular, if MHSM 125 GeV, the SI-2HDM strongly favors scenarios in which at least one of the nonstandard neutral Higgs bosons has a mass close to 400 GeV and is generically degenerate with the charged Higgs boson, whilst the third neutral Higgs scalar is lighter than 500 GeV.

Title Large-N-c naturalness in coupled-channel meson-meson scattering Type Journal Article
Year 2014 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 90 Issue 11 Pages 114020 - 17pp
  Keywords
Abstract The analysis of hadronic interactions with effective field theory techniques is complicated by the appearance of a large number of low-energy constants, which are usually fitted to data. On the other hand, the large-N-c limit helps to impose natural short-distance constraints on these low-energy constants, providing a parameter reduction. A Bayesian interpretation of the expected 1/N-c accuracy allows for an easy and efficient implementation of these constraints, using an augmented chi(2). We apply this approach to the analysis of meson-meson scattering, in conjunction with chiral perturbation theory to one loop and coupled-channel unitarity, and show that it helps to largely reduce the many existing ambiguities and simultaneously provide an acceptable description of the available phase shifts.

Title Nucleon and Delta(1232) form factors at low momentum transfer and small pion masses Type Journal Article
Year 2012 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D

  Keywords
Abstract An expansion of the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon and Delta(1232) in small momentum transfer and pion mass is performed in a manifestly covariant EFT framework consistent with chiral symmetry and analyticity. We present the expressions for the nucleon and Delta(1232) electromagnetic form factors, charge radii, and electromagnetic moments in the framework of SU(2) baryon chiral perturbation theory, with nucleon and Delta-isobar degrees of freedom, to next-to-leading order. Motivated by the results for the proton electric radius obtained from the muonic-hydrogen atom and electron-scattering process, we extract values for the second derivative of the electric form factor which is a genuine prediction of the p(3) B chi PT. The chiral behavior of radii and moments is studied and compared to that obtained in the heavy-baryon framework and lattice QCD. The chiral behavior of Delta(1232)-isobar properties exhibits cusps and singularities at the threshold of Delta -> pi N decay, and their physical significance is discussed.
