Title Next-to-leading order QCD corrections to Wgamma production in association with two jets Type Journal Article

Volume 74 Issue 5 Pages 2882 - 9pp

Abstract The QCD-induced production channels in association with two jets are computed at next-to-leading order QCD accuracy. The W bosons decay leptonically and full off-shell and finite width effects as well as spin correlations are taken into account. These processes are important backgrounds to beyond Standard Model physics searches and also relevant to test the nature of the quartic gauge couplings of the Standard Model. The next-to-leading order corrections reduce the scale uncertainty significantly and show a non-trivial phase space dependence. Our code will be publicly available as part of the parton level Monte Carlo program VBFNLO.

Abstract Next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the QCD-induced pp -> l(+)l(-)gamma j j + X and pp -> <(nu)lover bar>(l)nu(l)gamma(jj) + X processes are presented. The latter is used to find an optimal cut to reduce the contribution of radiative photon emission off the charged leptons in the first channel. As expected, the scale uncertainties are significantly reduced at NLO and the QCD corrections are phase-space dependent and important for precise measurements at the LHC.

Title Higgs boson production at the LHC: fast and precise predictions in QCD at higher orders Type Journal Article
Year 2022 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
Volume 82 Issue 5 Pages 492 - 8pp
Keywords
Abstract We present a new numerical program, HTurbo, which provides fast and numerically precise predictions for Higgs boson production cross sections. The present version of the code implements the perturbative QCD expansion up to the next-to-next-to-leading order also combined with the resummation of the large logarithmic corrections at small transverse momenta up to next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy and it includes the Higgs boson production through gluon fusion and decay in two photons with the full dependence on the final-state kinematics. Arbitrary kinematical cuts can be applied to the final states in order to obtain fiducial cross sections and associated kinematical distributions. We present a benchmark comparison with the predictions obtained with the numerical programs HRes and HNNLO programs for which HTurbo represents an improved reimplementation.

Title Fiducial perturbative power corrections within the q(T) subtraction formalism Type Journal Article
Year 2022 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
Volume 82 Issue 6 Pages 575 - 8pp
Keywords
Abstract We consider higher-order QCD corrections to the production of high-mass systems in hadron collisions within the transverse-momentum (q(T)) subtraction formalism. We present amethod to consistently remove the linear power corrections in q(T) which appears when fiducial kinematical cuts are applied on the final state system. We consider explicitly the case of fiducial cross sections for Drell-Yan lepton pair production at the Large Hadron Collider up to next-to-nextto-next-to-leading order (N3LO) in QCD. We have implemented our method within the DYTurbo numerical program and we have obtained perturbative predictions which are in agreement at the permille level with those obtained with local subtraction formalisms up to the next-to-next-toleading order (NNLO). At the N3LO we are able to provide predictions for fiducial cross sections with numerical accuracy at the permille level.

Title Implications of the Muon g-2 result on the flavour structure of the lepton mass matrix Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
Volume 81 Issue 10 Pages 929 - 11pp
Keywords
Abstract The confirmation of the discrepancy with the Standard Model predictions in the anomalous magnetic moment by theMuon g-2 experiment at Fermilab points to a low scale of new physics. Flavour symmetries broken at low energies can account for this discrepancy but these models are much more restricted, as they would also generate offdiagonal entries in the dipole moment matrix. Therefore, if we assume that the observed discrepancy in the muon g – 2 is explained by the contributions of a low-energy flavor symmetry, lepton flavour violating processes can constrain the structure of the lepton mass matrices and therefore the flavour symmetries themselves predicting these structures. We apply these ideas to several discrete flavour symmetries popular in the leptonic sector, such as Delta(27), A(4), and A(5) proportional to CP.
