Title Search for the dark photon in pi(0) decays Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 746 Issue Pages 178-185
Keywords
Abstract A sample of 1.69 x 10(7) fully reconstructed pi(0) -> gamma e(+)e(-) decay candidates collected by the NA48/2 experiment at CERN in 2003-2004 is analyzed to search for the dark photon (A') production in the pi(0) -> gamma A' decay followed by the prompt A' -> e(+)e(-) decay. No signal is observed, and an exclusion region in the plane of the dark photon mass m(A') and mixing parameter epsilon(2) is established. The obtained upper limits on epsilon(2) are more stringent than the previous limits in the mass range 9 MeV/c(2) < m(A') < 70 MeV/c(2). The NA48/2 sensitivity to the dark photon production in the K-+/- -> pi(+/-)A' decay is also evaluated.

Title Searches for lepton number violation and resonances in K-+/- -> pi μμdecays Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 769 Issue Pages 67-76
Keywords
Abstract The NA48/2 experiment at CERN collected a large sample of charged kaon decays to final states with multiple charged particles in 2003-2004. A new upper limit on the rate of the lepton number violating decay K-+/- -> pi(+/-)mu(+/-)mu(+/-) is reported: B( K-+/- -> pi(+/-)mu(+/-)mu(+/-)) < 8.6 x 10(-11) at 90% CL. Searches for two-body resonances X in K-+/- -> pi μμdecays (such as heavy neutral leptons N-4 and inflatons chi) are also presented. In the absence of signals, upper limits are set on the products of branching fractions B(K-+/- -> μN-+/-(4))B(N-4 -> pi mu) and B(K-+/- ->pi X-+/-)B(X -> mu(+),mu(-)) for ranges of assumed resonance masses and lifetimes. The limits are in the (10(-11),10(-9)) range for resonance lifetimes below 100 ps.

Title Measurement of the form factors of charged kaon semileptonic decays Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 10 Issue 10 Pages 150 - 23pp
Keywords Fixed target experiments; Rare decay
Abstract A measurement of the form factors of charged kaon semileptonic decays is presented, based on 4.4 x 10(6)K(+/-) (0)e(e)(+/-) (Ke3 +/-) and 2.3 x 10(6)K(+/-) (0)+/- (K3 +/-) decays collected in 2004 by the NA48/2 experiment. The results are obtained with improved precision as compared to earlier measurements. The combination of measurements in the Ke3 +/- and K3 +/- modes is also presented.

Title First observation and study of the K-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(0)e(+)e(-) decay Type Journal Article
Year 2019 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 788 Issue Pages 552-561
Keywords
Abstract The NA48/2 experiment at CERN reports the first observation of the K-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(0)e(+)e(-) decay from an exposure of 1.7 x 10(11) charged kaon decays recorded in 2003-2004. A sample of 4919 candidates with 4.9% background contamination allows the determination of the branching ratio in the full kinematic region, BR(K-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(0)e(+)e(-)) = (4.24 +/- 0.14) x 10(-6). The study of the kinematic space shows evidence for a structure dependent contribution in agreement with predictions based on chiral perturbation theory. Several P- and CP-violating asymmetries are also evaluated.

Title Search for Lepton-Flavor-Violating Decays of Bosons With the ATLAS Detector Type Journal Article
Year 2020 Publication Frontiers in Physics Abbreviated Journal Front. Physics
Volume 8 Issue Pages 149 - 13pp
Keywords lepton-flavor-violating decays; Z boson; Higgs boson; ATLAS; LHC; particle physics
Abstract The quest for lepton-flavor-violating processes at the LHC represents one of the key searches for new physics beyond the Standard Model. This review summarizes the direct searches for lepton-flavor-violating decays of heavy bosons with the ATLAS detector, using proton-proton collisions at the center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV.
