Abstract: An analysis of the angular distribution of the decay Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda mu(+)mu(-) is presented, using data collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2016 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 5 fb(-1). Angular observables are determined using a moment analysis of the angular distribution at low hadronic recoil, corresponding to the dimuon invariant mass squared range 15 < q(2) < 20 GeV2/c(4). The full basis of observables is measured for the first time. The lepton-side, hadron-side and combined forward-backward asymmetries of the decay are determined to be A(FB)(l) = -0.39 +/- 0.04 (stat) +/- 0.01 (syst), AFB(h) = -0.30 +/- 0.05 (stat) +/- 0.02 (syst), A(FB)(lh) = +0.25 +/- 0.04 (stat) +/- 0.01 (syst). The measurements are consistent with Standard Model predictions.

Abstract: A search is performed for a spin-0 boson, phi, produced in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, using prompt phi -> mu(+)mu(-) decays and a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 3.0 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. No evidence is found for a signal in the mass range from 5.5 to 15 GeV. Upper limits are placed on the product of the production cross-section and the branching fraction into the dimuon final state. The limits are comparable to the best existing over most of the mass region considered and are the first to be set near the Upsilon resonances.

Abstract: The Υ(1 S) invariant-mass distribution is investigated for a possible exotic meson state composed of two b quarks and two b quarks, X bbbb. The analysis is based on a data sample of pp collisions recorded with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies s = 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.3 fb. No signi fi cant excess is found, and upper limits are set on the product of the production cross-section and the branching fraction as functions of the mass of the X bbbb state. The limits are set in the fi ducial volume where all muons have pseudorapidity in the range [2 : 0; 5 : 0], and the X bbbb state has rapidity in the range [2 : 0; 4 : 5] and transverse momentum less than 15 GeV/c.

Abstract: Measurements are reported of the central exclusive production of J= and ( 2 S) mesons in pp collisions at a centre- of- mass energy of 13 TeV. Backgrounds are signi fi cantly reduced compared to previous measurements made at lower energies through the use of new forward shower counters. The products of the cross- sections and the branching fractions for the decays to dimuons, where both muons are within the pseudorapidity range 2 : 0 < < 4 : 5, are measured to be The fi rst uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are due to the luminosity determination. The cross- sections are also measured di ff erentially for meson rapidities between 2.0 and 4.5. Good agreement is observed with theoretical predictions. Photoproduction cross- sections are derived and compared to previous experiments, and a deviation from a pure power- law extrapolation of lower energy data is observed.

Abstract: A measurement of the time-integrated CP asymmetry in D (0) -> K (S) (0) K (S) (0) decays is reported. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of about 2 fb(-1) collected in 2015-2016 by the LHCb collaboration in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The D (0) candidate is required to originate from a D (*+) -> D (0) pi (+) decay, allowing the determination of the flavour of the D (0) meson using the pion charge. The D (0) -> K (+) K (-) decay, which has a well measured CP asymmetry, is used as a calibration channel. The CP asymmetryfor D (0) -> K (S) (0) K (S) (0) is measured to be where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is combined with the previous LHCb measurement at lower centre-of-mass energies to obtain A(CP) (D-0 -> K-S(0) K-S(0)) = (2.3 +/- 2.8 +/- 0.9)%.

Abstract: The production of (nS) mesons (n = 1; 2; 3) in p Pb and Pb p collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair p sNN = 8 : 16TeV is measured by the LHCb experiment, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 31.8 nb. The (nS) mesons are reconstructed through their decays into two opposite-sign muons. The measurements comprise the di ff erential production cross-sections of the (1 S) and (2 S) states, their forward-to-backward ratios and nuclear modi fi cation factors. The measurements are performed as a function of the transverse momentum pT and rapidity in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass frame y of the (nS) states, in the kinematic range pT < 25 GeV/ c and 1 : 5 < y < 4 : 0 (5 : 0 < y < 2 : 5) for p Pb (Pb p) collisions. In addition, production cross-sections for (3 S) are measured integrated over phase space and the production ratios between all three (nS) states are determined. Suppression for bottomonium in proton-lead collisions is observed, which is particularly visible in the ratios. The results are compared to theoretical models.

Abstract: The time-dependent CP asymmetries in B-0 -> pi(+)pi(-) and B-(s)(0) -> K+K- decays are measured using a data sample of p p collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The same data sample is used to measure the time-integrated CP asymmetries in B-0 -> K+pi(-) and B-(s)(0) -> pi K-+(-) decays. The results are C pi+pi- = -0.34 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.01, S pi+pi- = -0.63 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.01, CK+K- = 0.20 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.02, SK+K- = 0.18 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.02, A(K+K-)(Delta Gamma) = -0.79 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.10, A(CP)(B0) = -0.084 +/- 0.004 +/- 0.003, and A(CP)(B0s) = 0.213 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.007, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Evidence for CP violation is found in the B-s(0) -> K+K- decay for the first time.

Abstract: The first observation of the B-s(0) -> (D) over bar*(0)phi decay is reported, with a significance of more than seven standard deviations, from an analysis of pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb -1 , collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The branching fraction is measured relative to that of the topologically similar decay B-0 -> (D) over bar (0)pi(+)pi(-) and is found to be B(B-s(0) -> (D) over bar*(0)phi) = (3.7 +/- 05 +/- 0.3 +/- 0.2) x 10(-5), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third from the branching fraction of the B-0 -> (D) over bar (0)pi(+)pi(-) decay. The fraction of longitudinal polarization in this decay is measured to be f(L) = (73 +/- 15 +/- 4)%. The most precise determination of the branching fraction for the B-s(0) -> (D) over bar (0)phi decay is also obtained, B(B-s(0) -> (D) over bar (0)phi) = (3.0 +/- 0.3 +/- 0.2 +/- 0.2) x 10(-5). An upper limit, B(B-s(0) -> (D) over bar (0)phi) < 2.0 (2.3) x 10(-6) at 90% (95%) confidence level is set. A constraint on the omega – phi mixing angle delta is set at vertical bar delta vertical bar < 5.2 degrees (5.5 degrees) at 90% (95%) confidence level.

Abstract: The first observation of the B-s(0) -> (D) over bar K-0 (+) K- decay is reported, together with the most precise branching fraction measurement of the mode B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0 (+) K- The results are obtained from an analysis of pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1). The data were collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, The branching fraction of the B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0 (+) K- decay is measured relative to that of the decay B-0 -> (D) over bar (0)pi (+) pi(-) to be B(B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0 (+) K-)/B(B-0 -> (D) over bar (0)pi (+) pi(-)) =(69 +/- 0.4 +/- 0.3)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The measured branching fraction of the B-s(0) -> (D) over bar K-0 (+) K- decay mode relative to that of the corresponding B-0 decay is B(B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0 (+) K-)/B(B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0 (+) K-) = (93.0 +/- 809 +/- 6.9)%. Abstract: The first measurements of the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon pair (A(FB)), the triple-product asymmetry (A(2 phi)), and the charge-parity-conjugation asymmetry (A(CP)), in D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-) and -> D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-) decays are reported. They are performed using data from proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb experiment from 2011 to 2016, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 5 fb(-1). The asymmetries are measured to be A(FB) (D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-)) = (3.3 +/- 3.7 +/- 0.6)%, A(2 phi) (D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-)) = (-0.6 +/- 3.7 +/- 0.6)%, A(CP) (D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-)) = (4.9 +/- 3.8 +/- 0.7)%, A(FB) (D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-)) = (0 +/- 11 +/- 2 +/-)%, A(2 phi) (D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-)) = (9 +/- 11 +/- 1)%, A(CP) (D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-)) = (0 +/- 11 +/- 2)% where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The asymmetries are also measured as a function of the dimuon invariant mass. The results are consistent with the standard model predictions.
