Title Admixture of quasi-Dirac and Majorana neutrinos with tri-bimaximal mixing Type Journal Article
Year 2011 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 701 Issue 4 Pages 451-457
Keywords Neutrinoless double beta decay; Neutrino masses and mixings; Flavor symmetries; Tri-bimaximal mixing; Neutrino hierarchy; Discrete symmetries
Abstract We propose a realization of the so-called bimodal/schizophrenic model proposed recently. We assume 54, the permutation group of four objects as flavor symmetry giving tri-bimaximal lepton mixing at leading order. In these models the second massive neutrino state is assumed quasi-Dirac and the remaining neutrinos are Majorana states. In the case of inverse mass hierarchy, the lower bound on the neutrinoless double beta decay parameter m(ee) is about two times that of the usual lower bound, within the range of sensitivity of the next generation of experiments.

Title Neutrino masses and mixing: a flavour symmetry roadmap Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication Fortschritte der Physik-Progress of Physics Abbreviated Journal Fortschritte Phys.-Prog. Phys.
Volume 61 Issue 4-5 Pages 466-492
Keywords Neutrino masses; neutrino mixing; flavour symmetry
Abstract Over the last ten years tri-bimaximal mixing has played an important role in modeling the flavour problem. We give a short review of the status of flavour symmetry models of neutrino mixing. We concentrate on non-Abelian discrete symmetries, which provide a simple way to account for the TBM pattern. We discuss phenomenological implications such as neutrinoless double beta decay, lepton flavour violation as well as theoretical aspects such as the possibility to explain quarks and leptons within a common framework, such as grand unified models.

Title Pure glueball states in a light-front holographic approach Type Journal Article
Year 2020 Publication Journal of Physics G Abbreviated Journal J. Phys. G
Volume 47 Issue 5 Pages 055104 - 12pp
Keywords glueball; meson; spectrum; mixing; AdS; CFT
Abstract A phenomenological analysis of the scalar glueball and scalar meson spectra is carried out by using the AdS/QCD framework in the bottom-up approach. The resulting spectra are in good agreement for glueballs with lattice QCD results and for mesons with PDG data. We make use of the relation between the mode functions in AdS/QCD and the wave functions in Light-Front QCD to discuss the mixing of glueballs and mesons. The results of our investigation point out that above 2 GeV scalar particles will appear in almost degenerate pairs of unmixed glueball and mesons states leading to an interesting phenomenology whereby gluon dynamics could be well investigated.

Title The Cabibbo angle as a universal seed for quark and lepton mixings Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 748 Issue Pages 1-4
Keywords PMNS matrix; CKM matrix; Cabibbo angle; Bi-Large mixing; Wolfenstein parameter; Neutrino mixing
Abstract A model-independent ansatz to describe lepton and quark mixing in a unified way is suggested based upon the Cabibbo angle. In our framework neutrinos mix in a “Bi-Large” fashion, while the charged leptons mix as the “down-type” quarks do. In addition to the standard Wolfenstein parameters (lambda, A) two other free parameters (psi, delta) are needed to specify the physical lepton mixing matrix. Through this simple assumption one makes specific predictions for the atmospheric angle as well as leptonic CP violation in good agreement with current observations.

Title Status of three-neutrino oscillation parameters Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication Fortschritte der Physik-Progress of Physics Abbreviated Journal Fortschritte Phys.-Prog. Phys.
Volume 61 Issue 4-5 Pages 427-440
Keywords Neutrino mass and mixing; neutrino oscillations; solar and atmospheric neutrinos; reactor and accelerator neutrinos
Abstract Here we review the current status of global fits to neutrino oscillation data within the three-flavour framework. In our analysis we include the most recent data from solar and atmospheric neutrino experiments as well as the latest results from the long-baseline accelerator neutrino experiments and the recent measurements of reactor neutrino disappearance reported by Double Chooz, Daya Bay and RENO. We present updated determinations for the two neutrino mass splittings and the three mixing angles responsible for neutrino oscillations that, for the first time, have all been measured with 1 sigma accuracies ranging from 3 to 15%. A weak sensitivity for the CP violating phase is also reported from the global analysis.

Title Status and implications of neutrino masses: a brief panorama Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication International Journal of Modern Physics A Abbreviated Journal Int. J. Mod. Phys. A
Volume 30 Issue 13 Pages 1530034 - 13pp
Keywords Neutrino mixing and oscillations; seesaw mechanism; quark-lepton unification; flavor symmetry; electroweak symmetry breaking; neutrinoless double beta decay; dark matter; inflation
Abstract With the historic discovery of the Higgs boson our picutre of particle physics would have been complete were it nor for the neutrino sector and cosmology. I briefly discuss the role of neutrino masses and mixing upon gauge coupling unification, electroweak breaking and the flavor sector. Time is ripe for new discoveries such as leptonic CP violation, charged lepton flavor violation and neutrinoless double beta decay. Neutrinos could also play a role is elucidating the nature of dark matter and cosmic inflation.
