Abstract: We compute the analogue Hawking radiation for modes which possess a small wave vector perpendicular to the horizon. For low frequencies, the resulting mass term induces a total reflection. This reflection is accompanied by an extra mode mixing which occurs in the supersonic region, and which cancels out the infrared divergence of the near horizon spectrum. As a result, the amplitude of the undulation (0-frequency wave with macroscopic amplitude) emitted in white hole flows now saturates at the linear level, unlike what is found in the massless case. In addition, we point out that the mass introduces a new type of undulation which is produced in black hole flows, and which is well described in the hydrodynamical regime.

Abstract: We study the possibility that the approximate time shift symmetry during inflation is promoted to the full invariance under time reparametrization t -> (t) over tilde (t), or equivalently under field redefinition of the inflaton phi -> (phi) over tilde(phi). The symmetry allows only two operators at leading order in derivatives, so that all n-point functions of scalar perturbations are fixed in terms of the power spectrum normalization and the speed of sound. During inflation the decaying mode only decays as 1/a and this opens up the possibility to violate some of the consistency relations in the squeezed limit, although this violation is suppressed by the (small) breaking of the field reparametrization symmetry. In particular one can get terms in the 3-point function that are only suppressed by 1/k(L) in the squeezed limit k(L) -> 0 compared to the local shape.

Abstract: We have developed a phenomenological approach which describes very well the pi(0), eta and eta' meson production in the two-photon interactions. The simultaneous description of the pi(0), eta and eta' meson two-photon form factors is consistent with data in the spacelike region, with the exception of the pi(0) BABAR data. The obtained form factors are implemented in the event generator EKHARA and the simulated cross sections are presented. Uncertainties in the measured form factors coming from the model dependence in Monte Carlo simulations are studied. The model predictions for the form factor slopes at the origin are given and the high-Q(2) limit is also discussed.

Abstract: Weak gravitational lensing is one of the key probes of the cosmological model, dark energy, and dark matter, providing insight into both the cosmic expansion history and large scale structure growth history. Taking into account a broad spectrum of physics affecting growth – dynamical dark energy, extended gravity, neutrino masses, and spatial curvature – we analyze the cosmological constraints. Similarly we consider the effects of a range of systematic uncertainties, in shear measurement, photometric redshifts, intrinsic alignments, and the nonlinear power spectrum, on cosmological parameter extraction. We also investigate, and provide fitting formulas tor, the influence of survey parameters such as redshift depth, galaxy number densities, and sky area on the cosmological constraints in the beyond-ACDM parameter space. Finally, we examine the robustness of results for different fiducial cosmologies.

Abstract: We discuss lepton flavor violating processes induced in the production and decay of heavy right-handed neutrinos at the LHC. Such particles appear in left-right symmetrical extensions of the standard model as the messengers of neutrino mass generation, and can have masses at the TeV scale. We determine the expected sensitivity on the right-handed neutrino mixing matrix, as well as on the right-handed gauge boson and heavy neutrino masses. By comparing the sensitivity of the LHC with that of searches for low energy lepton flavor violating processes, we identify favorable areas of the parameter space to explore the complementarity between lepton flavor violating at low and high energies.
