Abstract |
The gauge-invariant generation of an effective gluon mass proceeds through the well-known Schwinger mechanism, whose key dynamical ingredient is the nonperturbative formation of longitudinally coupled massless bound-state excitations. These excitations introduce poles in the vertices of the theory, in such a way as to maintain the Slavnov-Taylor identities intact in the presence of massive gluon propagators. In the present work we first focus on the modifications induced to the nonperturbative three-gluon vertex by the inclusion of massless two-gluon bound states into the kernels appearing in its skeleton expansion. Certain general relations between the basic building blocks of these bound states and the gluon mass are then obtained from the Slavnov-Taylor identities and the Schwinger-Dyson equation governing the gluon propagator. The homogeneous Bethe-Salpeter equation determining the wave function of the aforementioned bound state is then derived, under certain simplifying assumptions. It is then shown, through a detailed analytical and numerical study, that this equation admits nontrivial solutions, indicating that the QCD dynamics support indeed the formation of such massless bound states. These solutions are subsequently used, in conjunction with the aforementioned relations, to determine the momentumdependence of the dynamical gluon mass. Finally, further possibilities and open questions are briefly discussed. |

Abstract |
The last two decades have witnessed the discovery of a myriad of new and unexpected hadrons. The future holds more surprises for us, thanks to new-generation experiments. Understanding the signals and determining the properties of the states requires a parallel theoretical effort. To make full use of available and forthcoming data, a careful amplitude modeling is required, together with a sound treatment of the statistical uncertainties, and a systematic survey of the model dependencies. We review the contributions made by the Joint Physics Analysis Center to the field of hadron spectroscopy. |

Abstract |
We study the decay J=& psi; & RARR; & pi; thorn & pi;-& pi;0 within the framework of the Khuri-Treiman equations. We find that the BESIII experimental dipion mass distribution in the & rho;o770 thorn -region is well reproduced with a once-subtracted P-wave amplitude. Furthermore, we show that F-wave contributions to the amplitude improve the description of the data in the & pi;& pi; mass region around 1.5 GeV. We also present predictions for the J=& psi; & RARR; & pi;0 & gamma;* transition form factor. |

Abstract |
The resolution of Dyson-Schwinger equations leads to the freezing of the QCD running coupling (effective charge) in the infrared, which is best understood as a dynamical generation of a gluon mass function, giving rise to a momentum dependence which is free from infrared divergences. We calculate the interquark static potential for heavy mesons by assuming that it is given by a massive One Gluon Exchange interaction and compare with phenomenologyical fits inspired by lattice QCD. We apply these potential forms to the description of quarkonia and conclude that, even though some aspects of the confinement mechanism are absent in the Dyson-Schwinger formalism, the spectrum can be reasonably reproduced. We discuss possible explanations for this outcome. |

Abstract |
A resonancelike structure, the P-c(4450), has recently been observed in the J/psi p spectrum by the LHCb Collaboration. We discuss the feasibility of detecting this structure in J/psi photoproduction in the CLAS12 experiment at JLab. We present a first estimate of the upper limit for the branching ratio of the P-c (4450) to J/psi p. Our estimates, which take into account the experimental resolution effects, predict that it will be possible to observe a sizable cross section close to the J/psi production threshold and shed light on the P-c(4450) resonance in the future photoproduction measurements. |
