Abstract |
A measurement of the shape of the differential decay rate and the associated Isgur-Wise function for the decay Lambda(0)(b) ->+ Lambda(+)(c) mu(-) is reported, using data corresponding to 3 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions. The Lambda(+)(c) mu(-)(nu) over bar μ(+anything) final states are reconstructed through the detection of a muon and Lambda(+)(c) baryon decaying into pK(-)pi(+), and the decay Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda(+)(c)pi(+)pi(-)mu(-)(nu) over bar μare used to determine contributions from Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda(c)*(+)mu(-)(nu) over bar μdecays. The measured dependence of the differential decay rate upon the squared four-momentum transfer between the heavy baryons, q(2), is compared with expectations from heavy-quark effective theory and from unquenched lattice QCD predictions. |

Abstract |
A search for the decays B-c(+) -> J/psi D-(*()0) Kappa(+) and B-c(+) -> J/psi D-(*K)+*(0) is performed with data collected at the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The decays B-c(+) -> J/psi(DK+)-K-0 and B-c(+) -> J/psi D*K-0(+) are observed for the first time, while first evidence is reported for the B-c(broken vertical bar) -> J/psi D*K-broken vertical bar(*0) and B-c(broken vertical bar) -> J/psi(DK)-K-broken vertical bar*(0) decays. The branching fractions of these decays are determined relative to the B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) decay. The B-c(+) mass is measured, using the J/psi(DK+)-K-0 final state, to be 6274.28 +/- 1.40(stat) +/- 0.32(syst) MeV/c(2). This is the most precise single measurement of the B-c(+) mass to date. |

Abstract |
The associated production of a W boson with a jet originating from either a light parton or heavy-flavor quark is studied in the forward region using proton-proton collisions. The analysis uses data corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1.0 and 2.0 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. The W bosons are reconstructed using the W -> μnu decay and muons with a transverse momentum, p(T), larger than 20 GeV in the pseudorapidity range 2.0 < eta < 4.5. The partons are reconstructed as jets with p(T) > 20 GeV and 2.2 < eta < 4.2. The sum of the muon and jet momenta must satisfy p(T) > 20 GeV. The fraction of W + jet events that originate from beauty and charm quarks is measured, along with the charge asymmetries of the W+b and W+c production cross sections. The ratio of the W + jet to Z + jet production cross sections is also measured using the Z -> μμdecay. All results are in agreement with Standard Model predictions. |

Abstract |
The first measurement that relates semileptonic and hadronic decay rates of the B-c(+) meson is performed using proton-proton collision data corresponding to 1.0 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector. The measured value of the ratio of branching fractions, B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+))/B(B-c(+) -> J/psi mu(+)nu(mu)) = 0.0469 +/- 0.0028(stat) +/- 0.0046(syst), is at the lower end of available theoretical predictions. |

Abstract |
An analysis of B-0 --> DK*(0) decays is presented, where D represents an admixture of D-0 and (D) over bar (0) mesons reconstructed in four separate final states: K-pi(+), pi K--(+), K+K- and pi(+)pi(-). The data sample corresponds to 3.0 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision, collected by the LHCb experiment. Measurements of several observables are performed, including CP asymmetries. The most precise determination is presented of r(B)(DK*(0)), the magnitude of the ratio of the amplitudes of the decay B-0 --> DK+pi(-) with a b --> u or a b --> c transition, in a K pi mass region of +/- 50 MeV/c(2) around the K*(892) mass and for an absolute value of the cosine of the K*(0) helicity angle larger than 0.4. |

Abstract |
Structure of the decay B0s. J=.pp- is studied using data corresponding to 3 fb- 1 of integrated luminosity from pp collisions produced by the LHC and collected by the LHCb detector. Five interfering pp- states are required to describe the decay: F-0(980), F-0(1500), F-0(1790), F-2 (1270) and F-2(1525) An alternative model including these states and a nonresonant J=.pp- component also provides a good description of the data. Based on the different transversity components measured for the spin- 2 intermediate states, the final state is found to be compatible with being entirely CP odd. The CP- even part is found to be < 2.3% at a 95% confidence level. The f 0d500 state is not observed, allowing a limit to be set on the absolute value of the mixing angle with the f 0d980 of < 7.7 at a 90% confidence level, consistent with a tetraquark interpretation of the f(0)(980) substructure. |

Abstract |
Measurements of charm mixing and CP violation parameters from the decay-time-dependent ratio of D-0 -> K+pi(-) to D-0 -> K-pi(+) decay rates and the charge-conjugate ratio are reported. The analysis uses (B) over bar -> D*(+) μX-, and charge-conjugate decays, where D *(+) -> D-0 pi(+), and D-0 -> K-+/-pi(-/+). The pp collision data are recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies root s = 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The data are analyzed under three hypotheses: (i) mixing assuming CP symmetry, (ii) mixing assuming no direct CP violation in the Cabibbo-favored or doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay amplitudes, and (iii) mixing allowing either direct CP violation and/or CP violation in the superpositions of flavor eigenstates defining the mass eigenstates. The data are also combined with those from a previous LHCb study of D-0 -> K pi decays from a disjoint set of D*(+) candidates produced directly in pp collisions. In all cases, the data are consistent with the hypothesis of CP symmetry. |

Abstract |
The B- -> D+K-pi(-) decay is observed in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. Its branching fraction is measured to be B(B- -> D+K-pi(-)) = (7.31 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.39) x 10(-5) where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic and from the branching fraction of the normalization channel B- -> D+pi(-)pi(-), respectively. An amplitude analysis of the resonant structure of the B- -> D+K-pi(-) decay is used to measure the contributions from quasi-two-body B- -> D-0* (2400)K-0(-), B- -> D-2* (2460)K-0(-), and B- -> D-J* (2760)K-0(-) decays, as well as from nonresonant sources. The D-J* (2760)(0) resonance is determined to have spin 1. |

Abstract |
Angular correlations in B+ -> X(3872)K+ decays, with X(3872) -> rho(0)J/psi, rho(0) -> pi(+)pi(-) and J/psi -> pi(+)pi(-), are used to measure orbital angular momentum contributions and to determine the J(PC) value of the X(3872) meson. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of proton- proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector. This determination, for the first time performed without assuming a value for the orbital angular momentum, confirms the quantum numbers to be J(PC) = 1(++). The X(3872) is found to decay predominantly through an S wave and an upper limit of 4% at 95% C.L. is set on the D-wave contribution. |

Abstract |
A proton-proton collision data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) collected by LHCb at root s = 7 and 8 TeV, is used to reconstruct 63 +/- 9 Omega(-)(b) -> Omega(0)(c)pi(-), Omega(0)(c) -> pK(-)K(-)pi(+) decays. Using the Xi(-)(b) ->Xi(0)(c)pi(-), Xi(0)(c) -> pK(-)K(-)pi(+) decay mode for calibration, the lifetime ratio and the absolute lifetime of the Omega(-)(b) baryon are measured to be tau(Omega b-)/tau(Xi b-) = 1.11 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.03, tau(Omega b-) = 1.78 +/- 0.26 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.06 ps, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic and from the calibration mode (for tau(Omega b-) only). A measurement is also made of the mass difference, m(Omega b-) – m(Xi b-), and the corresponding Omega(-)(b) mass, which yields m(Omega b-) – m(Xi b-) = 247.4 +/- 3.2 +/- 0.5 MeV/c(2), m(Omega b-) = 6045.1 +/- 3.2 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.6 MeV/c(2). These results are consistent with previous measurements. |
