Abstract |
The decays of B (s) (0) and mesons into the J/psi K (+) K (-) final state are studied in the K (+) K (-) mass region above the I center dot(1020) meson in order to determine the resonant substructure and measure the CP-violating phase, I center dot (s) , the decay width, I“ (s) , and the width difference between light and heavy mass eigenstates, Delta I” (s) . A decay-time dependent amplitude analysis is employed. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) produced in 7 and 8 TeV pp collisions at the LHC, collected by the LHCb experiment. The measurement determines I center dot (s) = 119 +/- 107 +/- 34 mrad. A combination with previous LHCb measurements using similar decays into the J/psi pi (+) pi (-) and J/psi I center dot(1020) final states gives I center dot (s) = 1 +/- 37 mrad, consistent with the Standard Model prediction. |

Abstract |
A search for the non-resonant decays B-s(0) -> mu(+) mu(-) mu(+)mu(-) and B-0 -> mu(+) mu(-) mu(+) mu(-) is presented. The measurement is performed using the full Run 1 data set collected in proton-proton collisions by the LHCb experiment at the LHC. The data correspond to integrated luminosities of 1 and 2 fb(-1) collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. No signal is observed and upper limits on the branching fractions of the non-resonant decays at 95% confidence level are determined to be B(B-s(0) -> mu(+) mu(-) mu(+)mu(-)) < 2.5 x 10(-9) B(B-0 -> mu(+) mu(-) mu(+) mu(-)) < 6.9 x 10(-10) |

Abstract |
A flavour-tagged decay-time-dependent amplitude analysis of B-s(0) -> (K+pi(-))(K-pi(+)) decays is presented in the K-+/-pi(-/+) mass range from 750 to 1600 MeV/c(2). The analysis uses pp collision data collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1). Several quasi-two-body decay modes are considered, corresponding to K-+/-pi(-/+) combinations with spin 0, 1 and 2, which are dominated by the K-0(*)(800)(0) and K-0(*)(1430)(0), the K*(892)(0) and the K-2(*)(1430)(0) resonances, respectively. The longitudinal polarisation fraction for the B-s(0) -> K-*(892)(0) (K*) over bar (892)(0) decay is measured as f(L) = 0.208 +/- 0.032 +/- 0.046, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The first measurement of the mixing-induced CP-violating phase in phi(d (d) over bar)(s), in b -> d (s) over bars transitions is performed, yielding a value of phi(d (d) over bar)(s)= -0.10 +/- 0.13 (stat) +/- 0.14 (syst) rad. |

Abstract |
The Cabibbo-suppressed decay Lambda(0)(b) -> psi(2S)p pi(-) is observed for the fi rst time using a data sample collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions corresponding to 1.0, 2.0 and 1.9 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13TeV, respectively. The psi(2S) mesons are reconstructed in the mu(+)mu(-) fi nal state. The branching fraction with respect to that of the Lambda(0)(b) -> psi(2S)pK(-) decay mode is measured to be B (Lambda(0)(b) -> psi(2S)p pi(-))/B (Lambda(0)(b) -> psi(2S)pK(-)) = (11.44 +/- 1.3 +/- 0.2)%, where the fi rst uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The psi(2S) p and psi(2S)pi(-) mass spectra are investigated and no evidence for exotic resonances is found. |

Abstract |
A measurement is presented of decay-time-dependent CP violation in the decays B-0 -> J/psi K-S(0) and B-0 -> psi(2S) K-S(0), where the J/psi is reconstructed from two electrons and the psi(2S) from two muons. The analysis uses a sample of pp collision data recorded with the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The CP-violation observables are measured to be C(B-0 -> J/psi K-S(0)) = 0.12 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.02, S(B-0 -> J/psi K-S(0)) = 0.83 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.01, C(B-0 -> psi(2S) K-S(0)) = -0.05 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.01, S(B-0 -> psi(2S) K-S(0)) = 0.84 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.01, where C describes CP violation in the direct decay, and S describes CP violation in the interference between the amplitudes for the direct decay and for the decay after B-0-(B) over bar (0) oscillation. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The two sets of results are compatible with the previous LHCb measurement using B-0 -> J/psi K-S(0) decays, where the J/psi meson was reconstructed from two muons. The averages of all three sets of LHCb results are C(B-0 -> [c (c) over bar] K-S(0)) = -0.017 +/- 0.029, S(B-0 -> [c (c) over bar] K-S(0)) = 0.760 +/- 0.034, under the assumption that higher-order contributions to the decay amplitudes are negligible. The uncertainties include statistical and systematic contributions. |

Abstract |
The difference between the CP asymmetries in the decays Lambda(+)(C) -> pK(-)K(+) and Lambda(+)(C) -> p pi(-)pi(+) is presented. Proton-proton collision data taken at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV collected by the LHCb detector in 2011 and 2012 are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The Lambda(+)(C) candidates are reconstructed as part of the Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda(+)(c)mu X- decay chain. In order to maximize the cancellation of production and detection asymmetries in the difference, the final-state kinematic distributions of the two samples are aligned by applying phase-space-dependent weights to the Lambda(+)(C) -> pK(-)K(+) sample. This alters the definition of the integrated CP asymmetry to A(CP)(wgt)(p pi(-)pi(+)). Both samples are corrected for reconstruction and selection efficiencies across the five-dimensional Lambda(+)(C) decay phase space. The difference in CP asymmetries is found to be Delta A(CP)(wgt) = A(CP)(pK(-)K(+)) – A(CP)(wgt)(p pi(-)pi(+)) = (0.30 +/- 0.91 +/- 0.61) %, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. |

Abstract |
The production of B +/- mesons is studied in pp collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 13 TeV, using B-+/- -> J/psi K-+/- decays and data samples corresponding to 1.0 fb(-1) and 0.3 fb(-1), respectively. The production cross-sections summed over both charges and integrated over the transverse momentum range 0 < pT < 40 GeV/c and the rapidity range 2.0 < y < 4.5 are measured to be sigma-(pp -> B-+/- X, root s = 7 TeV) = 43.0 +/- 0.2 +/- 2.5 +/- 1.7 μb, sigma(pp -> B-+/- X, root s = 13 TeV) = 86.6 +/- 0.5 +/- 5.4 +/- 3.4 μb, where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are due to the limited knowledge of the B-+/- -> J/psi K-+/- branching fraction. The ratio of the cross-section at 13 TeV to that at 7 TeV is determined to be 2.02 +/- 0.02 (stat) +/- 0.12 (syst). Differential cross-sections are also reported as functions of pi, and y. All results are in agreement with theoretical calculations based on the state-of-art fixed next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics. |

The ratios of the branching fractions of the decays do Lambda(+)(c) -> , p pi(-)pi(+), Lambda(+->)(c) pK(-)K(+), and Lambda(+)(c) -> p pi K--(+) with respect to the Cabibbo-favoured Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+) decay are measured using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb experiment at a 7 TeV centre-of-mass energy and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1): B(Lambda(+)(c) -> p pi(-)pi(+))/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+)) = (7.44 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.18)%. B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)K(+))/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+) = (1.70 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.03)%, B(Lambda(+)(c) -> p pi(-)pi K-+(+))/B(Lambda(+)(c) -> pK(-)pi(+) = (0.165 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.005)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Abstract |
A measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry in Bs0 ->phi phi = 7 TeV in 2011, 8 TeV in 2012 and 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016, a signal yield of around 9000 Bs0 ->phi phi decays is obtained. The CP-violating phase phi sss over bar is measured to be -0.073 +/- 0.115(stat) +/- 0.027(syst) rad, under the assumption it is independent of the helicity of the phi phi decay. In addition, the CP-violating phases of the transverse polarisations under the assumption of CP conservation of the longitudinal phase are measured. The helicity-independent direct CP-violation parameter is also measured, and is found to be |lambda| = 0.99 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.01(syst). In addition, T-odd triple-product asymmetries are measured. The results obtained are consistent with the hypothesis of CP conservation in b over bar -> s over bar ss over bar transitions. Finally, a limit on the branching fraction of the B-0 -> phi phi decay is determined to be Bmml:mfenced close=“)” open=(B0 ->phi phi 2.7x10(-8) at 90% confidence level. |

Abstract |
The Cabibbo-suppressed semileptonic decay B+-> pp over bar mu+nu μis observed for the first time using a sample of pp collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0, 2.0 and 1.7 fb at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13TeV, respectively. The differential branching fraction is measured as a function of the pp invariant mass using the decay mode B+ ! J= K+ for normalisation. The total branching fraction is measured to be B (B+ ! pp+) = (5:27+0:23 0:21 0:15) 10 where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third is from the uncertainty on the branching fraction of the normalisation channel. |
