Abstract: We perform a Dalitz plot analysis of about 100 000 D-s(+) decays to K+ K- pi(+) and measure the complex amplitudes of the intermediate resonances which contribute to this decay mode. We also measure the relative branching fractions of D-s(+) -> K+ K+ pi(-) and D-s(+) -> K+ K+ K-. For this analysis we use a 384 fb(-1) data sample, recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider running at center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., & Villanueva-Perez, P. (2014). Measurement of the B -> X(s)l(+)l(-) Branching Fraction and Search for Direct CP Violation from a Sum of Exclusive Final States. Phys. Rev. Lett., 112(21), 211802–8pp.
Abstract: We measure the total branching fraction of the flavor-changing neutral-current process B -> X(s)l(+)l(-), along with partial branching fractions in bins of dilepton and hadronic system (X-s) mass, using a sample of 471 x 10(6)Upsilon(4S) -> B (B) over bar events recorded with the BABAR detector. The admixture of charged and neutral B mesons produced at PEP-II2 are reconstructed by combining a dilepton pair with 10 different X-s final states. Extrapolating from a sum over these exclusive modes, we measure a lepton-flavor-averaged inclusive branching fraction B(B -> X(s)l(+)l(-)) = [6.73(-0.64)(+0.70)(stat)(-0.25)(+0.34)(exp syst) +/- 0.50(model syst)] x 10(-6) for m(l+l-)(2) > 0.1 GeV2/c(4). Restricting our analysis exclusively to final states from which a decaying B meson's flavor can be inferred, we additionally report measurements of the direct CP asymmetry A(CP) in bins of dilepton mass; over the full dilepton mass range, we find A(CP) = 0.04 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.01 for a leptonflavor-averaged sample.

Abstract: We measure the time-dependent CP asymmetry in the radiative-penguin decay B-0 -> K-S(0)pi(-)pi(+)gamma, using a sample of 471 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S) -> B (B) over bar events recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)(e) over tilde (-) storage ring at SLAC. Using events with m(K pi pi) < 1.8 GeV/c(2), we measure the branching fractions of B+ -> K+pi(-)pi(+)gamma and B-0 -> K-S(0)pi(-)pi(+)gamma, the branching fractions of the kaonic resonances decaying to K+pi(-)pi(+)gamma, as well as the overall branching fractions of the B+ -> rho K-0(+.)gamma, B+ -> K*(0)pi(+)gamma. and S-wave B+ -> (K pi)(0)(*0) pi(+)gamma components. For events from the rho mass band, we measure the CP-violating parameters SKS0 pi+pi-gamma = 0.14 +/- 0.25 +/- 0.03 and CKS0 pi+pi-gamma = -0.39 +/- 0.20(-0.02)(+0.003), where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. We extract from this measurement the time-dependent CP asymmetry related to the CP eigenstate rho K-0(S)0 and obtain S-KS(0) = -0.18 +/- 0.32(-0.05)(+0.06), which provides information on the photon polarization in the underlying b -> s gamma transition.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., & Villanueva-Perez, P. (2013). Measurement of the D*(2010)(+) natural linewidth and the D*(2010)(+)-D-0 mass difference. Phys. Rev. D, 88(5), 052003–20pp.
Abstract: We measure the mass difference, Delta m(0), between the D*(2010)(+) and the D-0 and the natural linewidth, Gamma, of the transition D*(2010)(+) -> D-0 pi(+). The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies at and near the Upsilon(4S) resonance, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 477 fb(-1). The D-0 is reconstructed in the decay modes D-0 -> K-pi(+) and D-0 -> K-pi(+)pi(-)pi(+). For the decay mode D-0 -> K-pi(+) we obtain Gamma = (83.4 +/- 1.7 +/- 1.5) keV and Delta m(0) = (145425.6 +/- 0.6 +/- 1.8) keV, where the quoted errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. For the D-0 -> K-pi(+)pi(-)pi(+) mode we obtain Gamma = (83.2 +/- 1.5 +/- 2.6) keV and Delta m(0) = (145426.6 +/- 0.5 +/- 2.0) keV. The combined measurements yield Gamma = (83.3 +/- 1.2 +/- 1.4) keV and Delta m(0) = (145425.9 +/- 0.4 +/- 1.7) keV; the width is a factor of approximately 12 times more precise than the previous value, while the mass difference is a factor of approximately 6 times more precise.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., & Villanueva-Perez, P. (2017). Measurement of the D* (2010)(+) -D+ Mass Difference. Phys. Rev. Lett., 119(20), 202003–7pp.
Abstract: We measure the mass difference, Delta m(+), between the D* (2010)(+) and the D+ using the decay chain D* (2010)(+) -> D+ pi(0) with D+ -> K- pi(+)pi(+). The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies at and near the (sic)(4S) resonance, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 468 fb(-1). We measure Delta m(+) = (140601.0 +/- 6.8[stat] +/- 12.9[syst]) keV. We combine this result with a previous BABAR measurement of Delta m(0) = m(D* (2010)(+)) – m(D-0) to obtain Delta m(D) = m(D+) – m(D-0) = (4824.9 +/- 6.8[stat] +/- 12.9[syst]) keV. These results are compatible with and approximately five times more precise than the Particle Data Group averages.

Abstract: We measure the direct CP violation asymmetry, A(CP), in B -> X-s gamma and the isospin difference of the asymmetry, Delta A(CP), using 429 fb(-1) of data collected at Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP- II asymmetric- energy e(+)e(-) storage rings operating at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. B mesons are reconstructed from ten charged B final states and six neutral B final states. We find A(CP) = +(1.7 +/- 1.9 +/- 1.0)%, which is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction and provides an improvement on the world average. Moreover, we report the first measurement of the difference between A(CP) for charged and neutral decay modes, Delta A(CP) = +(5.0 +/- 3.9 +/- 1.5)%. Using the value of Delta A(CP), we also provide 68% and 90% confidence intervals on the imaginary part of the ratio of theWilson coefficients corresponding to the chromomagnetic dipole and the electromagnetic dipole transitions.

Abstract: We have searched for the lepton-number violating processes B+ -> h(-)l(+)l(+) with h(-) = K-/pi(-) and l(+) = e(+)/mu(+), using a sample of 471 +/- 3 million B (B) over bar events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Abstract: We establish improved upper limits on branching fractions for B-0 decays to final states where the decay products are purely invisible (i.e., no observable final state particles) and for final states where the only visible product is a photon. Within the Standard Model, these decays have branching fractions that are below the current experimental sensitivity, but various models of physics beyond the Standard Model predict significant contributions for these channels. Using 471 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) storage ring at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, we establish upper limits at the 90% confidence level of 2.4 x 10(-5) for the branching fraction of B-0 -> invisible and 1.7 x 10(-5) for the branching fraction of B-0 -> invisible + gamma.

Bernabeu, J., Martinez-Vidal, F., & Villanueva-Perez, P. (2012). Time reversal violation from the entangled B-0(B)over-bar(0) system. J. High Energy Phys., 08(8), 064–18pp.
Abstract: We discuss the concepts and methodology to implement an experiment probing directly Time Reversal (T) non-invariance, without any experimental connection to CP violation, by the exchange of in and out states. The idea relies on the B-0(B) over bar (0)) entanglement and decay time information available at B factories. The flavor or CP tag of the state of the still living neutral meson by the first decay of its orthogonal partner overcomes the problem of irreversibility for unstable systems, which prevents direct tests of T with incoherent particle states. T violation in the time evolution between the two decays means experimentally a difference between the rates for the time-ordered (l+X, J/psi K-s) and (J/psi K-L, l(-)X) decays, and three other independent asymmetries. The proposed strategy has been applied to simulated data samples of similar size and features to those currently available, from which we estimate the significance of the expected discovery to reach many standard deviations.
