Title Coupled channels dynamics in the generation of the Omega (2012) resonance Type Journal Article

Abstract (down) We look into the newly observed Omega (2012) state from the molecular perspective in which the resonance is generated from the (K) over bar Xi*, eta Omega and (K) over bar Xi channels. We find that this picture provides a natural explanation of the properties of the Omega (2012) state. We stress that the molecular nature of the resonance is revealed with a large coupling of the Omega (2012) to the (K) over bar Xi* channel, that can be observed in the Omega (2012) -> (K) over bar pi Xi decay which is incorporated automatically in our chiral unitary approach via the use of the spectral function of Xi* in the evaluation of the (K) over bar Xi* loop function.

Title Linear analysis of the gravitational beam-plasma instability Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
  Volume 83 Issue 6 Pages 486 - 16pp
  Keywords
Abstract (down) We investigate the well-known phenomenon of the beam-plasma instability in the gravitational sector when a fast population of particles interacts with the massive scalar mode of a Horndeski theory of gravity, resulting in linear growth of the latter amplitude. Following the approach used in the standard electromagnetic case, we start from the dielectric representation of the gravitational plasma, as introduced in a previous analysis of the Landau damping for the scalar Horndeski mode. We then set up the modified Vlasov-Einstein equation, using a Dirac delta function to describe the fast beam distribution. We thus provide an analytical expression for the dispersion relation, and we demonstrate the existence of a nonzero growth rate for the linear evolution of the Horndeski scalar mode. A numerical investigation is then performed with a trapezoidal beam distribution function, which confirms the analytical results and allows us to demonstrate how the growth rate decreases as the beam spread increases.

Title Considerations on the Schmid theorem for triangle singularities Type Journal Article
Year 2019 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
  Volume 79 Issue 1 Pages 69 - 13pp
  Keywords
Abstract (down) We investigate the Schmid theorem, which states that if one has a tree level mechanism with a particle decaying to two particles and one of them decaying posteriorly to two other particles, the possible triangle singularity developed by the mechanism of elastic rescattering of two of the three decay particles does not change the cross section provided by the tree level. We investigate the process in terms of the width of the unstable particle produced in the first decay and determine the limits of validity and violation of the theorem. One of the conclusions is that the theorem holds in the strict limit of zero width of that resonance, in which case the strength of the triangle diagram becomes negligible compared to the tree level. Another conclusion, on the practical side, is that for realistic values of the width, the triangle singularity can provide a strength comparable or even bigger than the tree level, which indicates that invoking the Schmid theorem to neglect the triangle diagram stemming from elastic rescattering of the tree level should not be done. Even then, we observe that the realistic case keeps some memory of the Schmid theorem, which is visible in a peculiar interference pattern with the tree level.

Title Constraining scalar doublet and triplet leptoquarks with vacuum stability and perturbativity Type Journal Article
Year 2022 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
  Volume 82 Issue 6 Pages 516 - 44pp
  Keywords
Abstract (down) We investigate the constraints on the leptoquark Yukawa couplings and the Higgs-leptoquark quartic couplings for scalar doublet leptoquark (R) over tilde (2), scalar triplet leptoquark S-3 and their combination with both three generations and one generation with respect to perturbative unitarity and vacuum stability. The perturbative unitarity of all the dimensionless couplings is studied via one- and two-loop beta functions. New SU(2)(L) multiplets in terms of these leptoquarks are introduced to fabricate Landau poles at the two-loop level in the gauge coupling g(2) at 10(19.7) GeV and 10(14.4) GeV, respectively, for the S-3 and (R) over tilde (2) + S-3 models with three generations. However, such Landau poles cease to exist for (R) over tilde (2) and any of these extensions with both one and two generations up to Planck scale. The Higgs-leptoquark quartic couplings acquire severe constraints to protect Planck scale perturbativity, whereas leptoquark Yukawa couplings acquire some upper bound in order to respect Planck scale stability of Higgs vacuum. The Higgs quartic coupling at the two-loop level constrains the leptoquark Yukawa couplings for (R) over tilde (2), S-3, (R) over tilde (2) + S-3 with values less than or similar to 1.30, 3.90, 1.00 with three generations. In the effective potential approach, the presence of any of these leptoquarks with any number of generations pushes the metastable vacuum of the Standard Model to the stable region.

Title Fermionic dark matter in leptoquark portal Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
  Volume 78 Issue 9 Pages 726 - 6pp
  Keywords
Abstract (down) We investigate a beyond standard model (SM) portal scenario for dark matter (DM) particle with leptoquark being the mediator field. Leptoquark, a colored particle having both baryon and lepton number, allows the DM to interact with the SM fields via renormalizable interaction. By focusing on a vector leptoquark portal with Majorana fermion DM candidate, we find the only unknown coupling in the model is sensitive to all three main features of a DM model namely, relic density, direct detection as well as indirect detection, while being consistent with collider data. We explore the parameter space of the portal with minimum of its field content and find that AMS-02 data for antiproton flux imposes stringent bound till date and excludes the DM mass up to 400 GeV. The LUX 2016 data for DM-neutron scattering cross section allows the region compatible with relic density, however the future sensitivity of LUX-ZEPLIN experiment can probe the model up to its perturbative limit.
