Abstract: A search is performed for rare and forbidden charm decays of the form D+-> hl+l -/+, where h(+/-) is a pion or kaon and l((')+/-) is an electron or muon. The measurements are performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.6 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment in 2016. No evidence is observed for the 25 decay modes that are investigated and 90 % confidence level limits on the branching fractions are set between 1.4 x 10(-8) and 6.4 x 10(-6). In most cases, these results represent an improvement on existing limits by one to two orders of magnitude.

Abstract: A search is performed in the invariant mass spectrum of the B-c(+)pi(+) pi(-) system for the excited B-c(+) states B-c (2(1)S(0)) + and B-c(2(3)S(1)) + using a data sample of p p collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at the centre- of- mass energy of root s = 8TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb(-1). No evidence is seen for either state. Upper limits on the ratios of the production cross- sections of the Bc (2(1)S(0)) + and B-c(2(3)S(1)) + states times the branching fractions of Bc (2(1)S(0))(+) -> B-c(+)pi(+) pi(-) and B-c (2(3) S-1)(+) -> B-c*(+)pi(+) pi(-) over the production cross- section of the B-c(+) state are given as a function of their masses. They are found to be between 0.02 and 0.14 at 95% con fi dence level for B-c (2(1)S(0)) + and B-c (2(3)S(1)) + in the mass ranges [6830; 6890] MeV/c(2) and [6795; 6890] MeV/c(2), respectively.

Abstract: A search is presented for a Higgs-like boson with mass in the range 45 to 195 GeV/c(2) decaying into a muon and a tau lepton. The dataset consists of proton-proton interactions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb -1. The tau leptons are reconstructed in both leptonic and hadronic decay channels. An upper limit on the production cross-sectionmultiplied by the branching fraction at 95% confidence level is set and ranges from 22 pb for a boson mass of 45 GeV/c(2) to 4 pb for a mass of 195 GeV/c(2).

Abstract: A search is presented for the lepton flavour violating decay B+ -> K+mu (-)tau (+) using a sample of proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, collected with the LHCb detector and corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). The tau leptons are selected inclusively, primarily via decays with a single charged particle. The four-momentum of the tau lepton is determined by using B+ mesons from Bs20 -> B+K- decays. No significant excess is observed, and an upper limit is set on the branching fractionB(B+-> K+mu (-)tau (+))<3.9x10(-5)at90%confidence level.The obtained limit is comparable to the world-best limit.

Abstract: A simultaneous analysis of the B thorn & RARR; K thorn e thorn e- and B0 & RARR; K & DBLBOND;0e thorn e- decays is performed to test muonelectron universality in two ranges of the square of the dilepton invariant mass, q2. The measurement uses a sample of beauty meson decays produced in proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb-1. A sequence of multivariate selections and strict particle identification requirements produce a higher signal purity and a better statistical sensitivity per unit luminosity than previous LHCb lepton universality tests using the same decay modes. Residual backgrounds due to misidentified hadronic decays are studied using data and included in the fit model. Each of the four lepton universality measurements reported is either the first in the given q2 interval or supersedes previous LHCb measurements. The results are compatible with the predictions of the Standard Model.
