Abstract: Several extensions of the standard model predict associated production of dark-matter particles with a Higgs boson. Such processes arc searched for in final states with missing transverse momentum and a Higgs boson decaying to a b (b) over bar pair with the ATLAS detector using 36.1 fb(-1) of pp collisions at a center-of mass energy of 13 TeV at the LHC. The observed data are in agreement with the standard model predictions and limits are placed on the associated production of dark-matter particles and a Higgs boson.

Abstract: Semi-visible jets, with a significant contribution to the event's missing transverse momentum, can arise in strongly interacting dark sectors. This results in an event topology where one of the jets can be aligned with the direction of the missing transverse momentum. The first search for semi-visible jets produced via a t-channel mediator exchange is presented. The analysis uses proton-proton collisions with an integrated luminosity of 139 fb-1 and a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected with the ATLAS detector during the Run 2 of the LHC. No excess over Standard Model predictions is observed. Assuming a coupling strength of unity between the mediator, a Standard Model quark and a dark quark, mediator masses up to 2.7 TeV are excluded at the 95% confidence level. Upper limits on the coupling strength are also derived.

Abstract: Searches for the Higgs boson decays H -> ee and H -> e μare performed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1) collected with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at root s = 13 TeV at the LHC. No significant signals are observed, in agreement with the Standard Model expectation. For a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, the observed (expected) upper limit at the 95% confidence level on the branching fraction B(H -> ee) is 3.6 x 10(-4) (3.5 x 10(-4)) and on B(H -> e mu) is 6.2 x 10(-5) (5.9 x 10(-5)). These results represent improvements by factors of about five and six on the previous best limits on B(H -> ee) and B(H -> e mu) respectively.

Abstract: Searches for the exclusive decays of the Higgs boson to an omega meson and a photon or a K* meson and a photon can probe flavour-conserving and flavour-violating Higgs boson couplings to light quarks, respectively. Searches for these decays, along with the analogous Z boson decay to an omega meson and a photon, are performed with a pp collision data sample corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 134 fb(-1) collected at root s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The obtained 95% confidence-level upper limits on the respective branching fractions are B(H -> omega gamma) < 5.5 x 10(-4), B(H -> K*gamma) < 2.2 x 10(-4) and B(Z -> omega gamma) < 3.9 x 10(-6). The limits for H -> omega gamma and Z -> omega gamma) are 370 times and 140 times the Standard Model expected values, respectively. The result for Z -> omega gamma corresponds to a two-orders-of-magnitude improvement over the limit obtained by the DELPHI experiment at LEP.

Abstract: Searches for the exclusive decays of Higgs and Z bosons into a vector quarkonium state and a photon are performed in the mu(+)mu(-) gamma final state with a proton-proton collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1) collected at root s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The observed data are compatible with the expected backgrounds. The 95% confidence-level upper limits on the branching fractions of the Higgs boson decays into J/psi gamma, psi(2S)gamma, and Upsilon(1S, 2S, 3S)gamma are found to be 2.0 x 10(-4), 10.5x10(-4), and (2.5, 4.2, 3.4) x10(-4), respectively, assuming Standard Model production of the Higgs boson. The corresponding 95% CL upper limits on the branching fractions of the Z boson decays are 1.2 x 10(-6), 2.4 x 10(-6), and (1.1, 1.3, 2.4) x10(-6). An observed 95% CL interval of (-133, 175) is obtained for the kappa(c)/kappa(gamma) ratio of Higgs boson coupling modifiers, and a 95% CL interval of (-37, 40) is obtained for kappa(b)/kappa(gamma).

Abstract: Searches for the electroweak production of charginos, neutralinos and sleptons in final states characterized by the presence of two leptons (electrons and muons) and missing transverse momentum are performed using 20.3 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at root s = 8 TeV recorded with the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. No significant excess beyond Standard Model expectations is observed. Limits are set on the masses of the lightest chargino, next-to-lightest neutralino and sleptons for different lightest-neutralino mass hypotheses in simplified models. Results are also interpreted in various scenarios of the phenomenological Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model.

Abstract: Searches for scalar leptoquarks pair-produced in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider are performed by the ATLAS experiment. A data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb(-1) is used. Final states containing two electrons or two muons and two or more jets are studied, as are states with one electron or muon, missing transverse momentum and two or more jets. No statistically significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed. The observed and expected lower limits on the leptoquark mass at 95% confidence level extend up to 1.29 TeV and 1.23 TeV for first-and second-generation leptoquarks, respectively, as postulated in the minimal Buchmuller-Ruckl-Wyler model, assuming a branching ratio into a charged lepton and a quark of 50%. In addition, measurements of particle-level fiducial and differential cross sections are presented for the Z -> ee, Z -> μμand t (t) over bar processes in several regions related to the search control regions. Predictions from a range of generators are compared with the measurements, and good agreement is seen for many of the observables. However, the predictions for the Z -> ll measurements in observables sensitive to jet energies disagree with the data.

Abstract: Searches for pair-produced scalar leptoquarks are performed using 20 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data provided by the LHC and recorded by the ATLAS detector at root s = 8 TeV. Events with two electrons (muons) and two or more jets in the final state are used to search for first (second)-generation leptoquarks. The results from two previously published ATLAS analyses are interpreted in terms of third-generation leptoquarks decaying to b nu(tau)(b) over bar(nu) over bar (tau) and t nu(tau)(t) over bar(nu) over bar (tau) final states. No statistically significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed in any channel and scalar leptoquarks are excluded at 95 % CL with masses up to m(LQ1) < 1050 GeV for first-generation leptoquarks, m(LQ2) < 1000 GeV for second-generation leptoquarks, m(LQ3) 625 GeV for third-generation leptoquarks in the b nu(tau)<(b) over bar(nu) over bar (tau) channel, and 200 < m(LQ3) < 640 GeV in the t nu(tau)(t) over bar(nu) over bar (tau) channel.

Abstract: Searches for non- resonant and resonant Higgs boson pair production are performed in the..WW * channel with the final state of.. .j j using 36.1 fb – 1 of protonpv roton collision data recorded at a centre- of- mass energy of s = 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. No significant deviation from the Standard Model prediction is observed. A 95% confidence- level observed upper limit of 7.7 pb is set on the cross section for nonresonant production, while the expected limit is 5.4 pb. A search for a narrow- width resonance X decaying to a pair of Standard Model Higgs bosons HH is performed with the same set of data, and the observed upper limits on s( pp. X) x B( X. HH) range between 40.0 and 6.1 pb for masses of the resonance between 260 and 500GeV, while the expected limits range between 17.6 and 4.4 pb. When deriving the limits above, the StandardModel branching ratios of the H... and H. WW * are assumed.
