Abstract: Limits on the cross-section times branching fraction for neutral Higgs bosons, produced in p p collisions at root s = 7 TeV, and decaying to two tau leptons with pseudorapidities between 2.0 and 4.5, are presented. The result is based on a dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector. Candidates are identified by reconstructing final states with two muons, a muon and an electron, a muon and a hadron, or an electron and a hadron. A model independent upper limit at the 95% confidence level is set on a neutral Higgs boson cross-section times branching fraction. It varies from 8.6 pb for a Higgs boson mass of 90 GeV to 0.7 pb for a Higgs boson mass of 250 GeV, and is compared to the Standard Model expectation. An upper limit on tan beta in the Minimal Supersymmetric Model is set in the m(h0)(max) scenario. It ranges from 34 for a CP-odd Higgs boson mass of 90 GeV to 70 for a pseudo-scalar Higgs boson mass of 140 GeV.

Abstract: Inclusive and differential fiducial cross sections of Higgs boson production in proton-proton collisions are measured in the H -> Z Z* -> 4l decay channel. The proton-proton collision data were produced at the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb(-1). The inclusive fiducial cross section in the H -> Z Z* -> 4l decay channel is measured to be 3.62 +/- 0.50 (stat) (+0.25)(-0.20) (sys) fb, in agreement with the Standard Model prediction of 2.91 +/- 0.13 fb. The cross section is also extrapolated to the total phase space including all Standard Model Higgs boson decays. Several differential fiducial cross sections are measured for observables sensitive to the Higgs boson production and decay, including kinematic distributions of jets produced in association with the Higgs boson. Good agreement is found between data and Standard Model predictions. The results are used to put constraints on anomalous Higgs boson interactions with Standard Model particles, using the pseudo-observable extension to the kappa-framework.

Abstract: In this paper, a new technique for reconstructing and identifying hadronically decaying tau (+)tau (-) pairs with a large Lorentz boost, referred to as the di-tau tagger, is developed and used for the first time in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. A benchmark di-tau tagging selection is employed in the search for resonant Higgs boson pair production, where one Higgs boson decays into a boosted bbbar pair and the other into a boosted tau (+)tau (-) pair, with two hadronically decaying tau -leptons in the final state. Using 139 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data recorded at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, the efficiency of the di-tau tagger is determined and the background with quark- or gluon-initiated jets misidentified as di-tau objects is estimated. The search for a heavy, narrow, scalar resonance produced via gluon-gluon fusion and decaying into two Higgs bosons is carried out in the mass range 1-3 TeV using the same dataset. No deviations from the Standard Model predictions are observed, and 95% confidence-level exclusion limits are set on this model.

Abstract: In this Letter we analyse, in the context of the general 2-Higgs Doublet Model, the structure of the Yukawa matrices, (Y) over tilde (q)(1,2), by assuming a four-zero texture ansatz for their definition. In this framework, we obtain compact expressions for (Y) over tilde (q)(1,2), which are reduced to the Cheng and Sher ansatz with the difference that they are obtained naturally as a direct consequence of the invariants of the fermion mass matrices. Furthermore, in order to avoid large flavour violating effects coming from charged Higgs exchange, we consider the main flavour constraints on the off-diagonal terms of Yukawa texture ((chi) over tilde (q)(j))(kl) (k not equal l). We perform a chi(2)-fit based on current experimental data on the quark masses and the Cabibbo-KobayashiMaskawa mixing matrix V-CKM. Hence, we obtain the allowed ranges for the parameters (Y) over tilde (q)(1,2) at 1 sigma for several values of tan beta. The results are in complete agreement with the bounds obtained taking into account constraints on Flavour Changing Neutral Currents reported in the literature.

Abstract: In the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model, the alignment of Yukawa matrices in flavour space guarantees the absence of tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents, while allowing at the same time for new sources of CP violation, implying potentially large effects in many low-energy processes. In this work we study the constraints from exclusive radiative B -> V gamma decays, where V denotes a light vector meson. The current experimental data on the CP-averaged branching ratios and the direct CP and isospin asymmetries are analyzed. It is found that, while the branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries do not constrain the parameter space much further compared to the inclusive B -> X-s,X-d gamma decays, complementary constraints can be obtained from the isospin asymmetries Delta(K*gamma) and Delta(rho gamma). In addition, correlations between the various observables in exclusive B -> V gamma and inclusive B -> X-s,X-d gamma decays are investigated in detail, and predictions are made for several so far unmeasured observables.
