  Abstract (down) We report updated branching fraction measurements of the color-suppressed decays (B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0), D*(0)pi(0), D(0)eta, D*(0)eta, D(0)omega, D*(0)omega, D(0)eta', and D*(0)eta'. We measure the branching fractions (x 10(-4)): B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0)) = 2.69 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.13, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0)) = 3.05 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.28, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.53 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.11, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.69 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.23, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.57 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.14, B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)omega) = 4.55 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.39, B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)omega) = 1.48 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.07, and B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)eta') = 1.49 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.15. We also present the first measurement of the longitudinal polarization fraction of the decay channel D*(0)omega, f(L) = (66.5 +/- 4.7 +/- 1.5)%. In the above, the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The results are based on a sample of (454 +/- 5) x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Gamma(4S) resonance, with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage rings at SLAC. The measurements are the most precise determinations of these quantities from a single experiment. They are compared to theoretical predictions obtained by factorization, Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) and perturbative QCD (pQCD). We find that the presence of final state interactions is favored and the measurements are in better agreement with SCET than with pQCD.

  Abstract (down) We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B-0 -> pi(-)l(+)nu, B+ -> pi(0)l(+)nu, B+ -> omega l(+)nu, B+ -> eta l(+)nu, and B+ -> eta'l(+)nu (l = e or mu) undertaken with approximately 462 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions in several bins of q(2), the square of the momentum transferred to the lepton-neutrino pair, for B-0 -> pi(-)l(+)nu, B+ -> pi(0)l(+)nu, B+ -> omega l(+)nu, and B+ -> eta l(+)nu. From these distributions, we extract the form-factor shapes f(+)(q(2)) and the total branching fractions B(B-0 -> pi(-)l(+)nu) = (1.45 +/- 0.04(stat) +/- 0.06(syst)) X 10(-4) (combined pi(-) and pi(0) decay channels assuming isospin symmetry), B(B+ -> omega l(+)nu) = (1.19 +/- 016(stat) +/- 0.09(syst)) X 10(-4) and B(B+ -> eta l(+)nu) = (0.38 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.05(syst)) X 10(-4). We also measure B(B+ -> eta'l(+)nu) = (0.24 +/- 0.08(stat) +/- 0.03(syst)) X 10(-4). We obtain values for the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (KM) matrix element vertical bar V-ub vertical bar by direct comparison with three different QCD calculations in restricted q(2) ranges of B -> pi l(+)nu decays. From a simultaneous fit to the experimental data over the full q(2) range and the FNAL/MILC lattice QCD predictions, we obtain vertical bar V-ub vertical bar = (3.25 +/- 0.31) X 10(-3), where the error is the combined experimental and theoretical uncertainty.

  Abstract (down) We report the result of a search for the rare decay B-0 -> gamma gamma in 426 fb(-1) of data, corresponding to 226 x 10(6) B-0(B) over bar (0) pairs, collected on the Y(4S) resonance at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider using the BABAR detector. We use a maximum likelihood fit to extract the signal yield and observe 21(-12)(+13) signal events with a statistical significance of 1.8 sigma. This corresponds to a branching fraction B(B-0 -> gamma gamma) = (1.7 +/- 1.1(stat.) +/- 0.2(syst.)) X 10(-7). Based on this result, we set a 90% confidence level upper limit of B(B-0 -> gamma gamma) < 3.2 X 10(-7).

  Abstract (down) We report the observation of the rare charm decay D-0 -> K-pi(+)e(+)e(-), based on 468 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) annihilation data collected at or close to the center-of-mass energy of the (sic)(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find the branching fraction in the invariant mass range 0.675 < m(e(+)e(-)) < 0.875 GeV/c(2) of the electron-positron pair to be B(D-0 -> K-pi(+)e(+)e(-)) = (4.0 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.2 +/- 0.1) x 10(-6), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third due to the uncertainty in the branching fraction of the decay D-0 -> K-pi(+)pi(+)pi(-) used as a normalization mode. The significance of the observation corresponds to 9.7 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. This result is consistent with the recently reported D-0 -> K-pi(+)mu(+)mu(-) branching fraction, measured in the same invariant mass range, and with the value expected in the standard model. In a set of regions of m(e(+)e(-)), where long-distance effects are potentially small, we determine a 90% confidence level upper limit on the branching fraction B(D-0 -> K-pi(+)e(+)e(-)) < 3.1 x 10(-6).

  Abstract (down) We report the observation of the baryonic decay (B) over bar (0) -> Lambda(+)(c)(p) over barK(-)K(+) using a data sample of 471 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs produced in e(+)e(-) annihilations at root s = 10.58 GeV. This data sample was recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP- II storage ring at SLAC. We find B((B) over bar (0) -> Lambda(+)(c)(p) over barK(-)K(+)) = (2.5 +/- 0.4((stat)) +/- 0.2((syst)) +/- 0.6(B(Lambda c+)) ) x 10(-5) where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the uncertainty of the Lambda(+)(c) -> (p) over barK(-)pi(+) branching fraction, respectively. The result has a significance corresponding to 5.0 standard deviations, including all uncertainties. For the resonant decay (B) over bar (0) -> Lambda(+)(c)(p) over bar phi, we determine the upper limit B((B) over bar (0) -> Lambda(+)(c)(p) over bar phi) < 1.2 x 10(-5) at 90% confidence level.

  Abstract (down) We report the observation of a new structure in the Lambda(0)(b)pi(+)pi(- )spectrum using the full LHCb data set of pp collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1), collected at root s = 7, 8, and 13 TeV. A study of the structure suggests its interpretation as a superposition of two almost degenerate narrow states. The masses and widths of these states are measured to be m(Lambda b(6146)0) = 6146.17 +/- 0.33 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.16 MeV, m(Lambda b(6152)0) = 6152.51 +/- 0.26 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.16 MeV, Gamma(Lambda b(6146)0) = 2.9 +/- 1.3 +/- 0.3 MeV, Gamma(Lambda b(6152)0) = 2.1 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.3 MeV,with a mass splitting of Delta m = 6.34 +/- 0.32 +/- 0.02 MeV, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic. The third uncertainty for the mass measurements derives from the knowledge of the mass of the Lambda(0)(b) baryon. The measured masses and widths of these new excited states suggest their possible interpretation as a doublet of Lambda(b)(1D)(0) states.

  Abstract (down) We report the measurements of the CP-violating parameters in B-s(0) -> (DsK +/-)-K--/+ decays observed in pp collisions, using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) recorded with the LHCb detector. We measure C-f = 0.73 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.05, A(f)(Delta Gamma) = 0.39 +/- 0.28 +/- 0.15, A(<(f)over) (Delta Gamma)(bar>) = 0.31 +/- 0.28 +/- 0.15, S-f = -0.52 +/- 0.20 +/- 0.07, S-(f) over bar = -0.49 +/- 0.20 +/- 0.07, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. These parameters are used together with the world-average value of the B-s(0) mixing phase, -2 beta(s), to obtain a measurement of the CKM angle gamma from B-s(0) -> (DsK +/-)-K--/+ decays, yielding gamma – (128 (+17)(-22))degrees modulo 180 degrees, where the uncertainty contains both statistical and systematic contributions. This corresponds to 3.8 sigma evidence for CP violation in the interference between decay and decay after mixing.
