Title Dirac neutrinos from Peccei-Quinn symmetry: A fresh look at the axion Type Journal Article
Year 2020 Publication Modern Physics Letters A Abbreviated Journal Mod. Phys. Lett. A
Volume 35 Issue 21 Pages 2050176 - 9pp
Keywords Peccei-Quinn symmetry; axion; neutrinos
Abstract (up) We show that a very simple solution to the strong CP problem naturally leads to Dirac neutrinos. Small effective neutrino masses emerge from a type-I Dirac seesaw mechanism. Neutrino mass limits probe the axion parameters in regions currently inaccessible to conventional searches.

Abstract (up) We show that if global lepton number symmetry is spontaneously broken in a postinflation epoch, then it can lead to the formation of cosmological domain walls. This happens in the well-known “Majoron paradigm” for neutrino mass generation. We propose some realistic examples that allow spontaneous lepton number breaking to be safe from such domain walls.

Title Neutrino predictions from generalized CP symmetries of charged leptons Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 07 Issue 7 Pages 077 - 26pp
Keywords Neutrino Physics; CP violation
Abstract (up) We study the implications of generalized CP transformations acting on the mass matrices of charged leptons in a model-independent way. Generalized e – mu, e – tau and μ- tau symmetries are considered in detail. In all cases the physical parameters of the lepton mixing matrix, three mixing angles and three CP phases can be expressed in terms of a restricted set of independent “theory parameters” that characterize a given choice of CP transformation. This leads to implications for neutrino oscillations as well as neutrinoless double beta decay experiments.
