Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We propose a flavour theory in which the family symmetry results naturally from a six-dimensional orbifold compactification. “Diracness” of neutrinos is a consequence of the spacetime dimensionality, and the fact that right-handed neutrinos live in the bulk. Dark matter is incorporated in a scotogenic way, as a result of an auxiliary Z(3) symmetry, and its stability is associated to the conservation of a “dark parity” symmetry. The model leads naturally to a “golden” quark-lepton mass relation. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We propose a flavor theory of leptons implementing an A(4) family symmetry. Our scheme provides a simple way to derive trimaximal neutrino mixing from first principles, leading to simple and testable predictions for neutrino mixing and CP violation. Dark matter mediates neutrino mass generation, as in the simplest scotogenic model. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We propose a dynamical scoto-seesaw mechanism using a gauged B – L symmetry. Dark matter is reconciled with neutrino mass generation, in such a way that the atmospheric scale arises a la seesaw, while the solar scale is scotogenic, arising radiatively from the exchange of “dark” states. This way we “explain” the solar-to-atmospheric scale ratio. The TeV-scale seesaw mediator and the two dark fermions carry different B – L charges. Dark matter stability follows from the residual matter parity that survives B – L breaking. Besides having collider tests, the model implies sizable charged lepton flavor violating (cLFV) phenomena, including Goldstone boson emission processes. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We propose a braneworld scenario in a modified symmetric teleparallel gravitational theory, where the dynamics for the gravitational field is encoded in the nonmetricity tensor rather than in the curvature. Assuming a single real scalar field with a sine-Gordon self-interaction, the generalized quadratic nonmetricity invariant Q controls the brane width while keeping the shape of the energy density. By considering power corrections of the invariant Q in the gravitational Lagrangian, the sine-Gordon potential is modified exhibiting new barriers and false vacuum. As a result, the domain wall brane obtains an inner structure, and it undergoes a splitting process. In addition, we also propose a nonminimal coupling between a bulk fermion field and the nonmetricity invariant Q. Such geometric coupling leads to a massless chiral fermion bound to the 3-brane and a stable tower of nonlocalized massive states. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We present updated LHC limits on the minimal universal extra dimensions (MUEDs) model from the Run 2 searches. We scan the parameter space against a number of searches implemented in the public code CheckMATE and derive up-to-date limits on the MUED parameter space from 13TeV searches. The strongest constraints come from a search dedicated to squarks and gluinos with one isolated lepton, jets and missing transverse energy. In the procedure, we take into account initial state radiation and stress its importance in the MUED searches, which is not always appreciated. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We present the theoretical study of the process chi(c0)(1P) -> (Sigma) over bar Sigma pi decay, by taking into account the pi Sigma and pi(Sigma) over bar final state interactions of the final meson-baryon pair based on the chiral unitary approach. We show that the process filters the isospin I = 1 in the pi Sigma channel and offers a reaction to test the existence of an I = 1 state with strangeness S = -1 and spin-parity J(p) = 1/2(-) around the (K) over barN threshold predicted by some theories and supported by some experiments. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We present the results of the first search for gravitational wave bursts associated with high energy neutrinos. Together, these messengers could reveal new, hidden sources that are not observed by conventional photon astronomy, particularly at high energy. Our search uses neutrinos detected by the underwater neutrino telescope ANTARES in its 5 line configuration during the period January – September 2007, which coincided with the fifth and first science runs of LIGO and Virgo, respectively. The LIGO-Virgo data were analysed for candidate gravitational-wave signals coincident in time and direction with the neutrino events. No significant coincident events were observed. We place limits on the density of joint high energy neutrino – gravitational wave emission events in the local universe, and compare them with densities of merger and core-collapse events. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We present the results of the first combined dark matter search targeting the Galactic Center using the ANTARES and IceCube neutrino telescopes. For dark matter particles with masses from 50 to 1000 GeV, the sensitivities on the self-annihilation cross section set by ANTARES and IceCube are comparable, making this mass range particularly interesting for a joint analysis. Dark matter self-annihilation through the tau(+)tau(-) , mu(+)mu(-) , b (b) over bar, and W+W- channels is considered for both the Navarro-Frenk-White and Burkert halo profiles. In the combination of 2101.6 days of ANTARES data and 1007 days of IceCube data, no excess over the expected background is observed. Limits on the thermally averaged dark matter annihilation cross section <sigma(A)upsilon > are set. These limits present an improvement of up to a factor of 2 in the studied dark matter mass range with respect to the individual limits published by both collaborations. When considering dark matter particles with a mass of 200 GeV annihilating through the tau(+)tau(-)channel, the value obtained for the limit is 7.44 x 10(-24) cm(3) s(-1 )for the Navarro-Frenk-White halo profile. For the purpose of this joint analysis, the model parameters and the likelihood are unified, providing a benchmark for forthcoming dark matter searches performed by neutrino telescopes. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We present the results of searches for point-like sources of neutrinos based on the first combined analysis of data from both the ANTARES and IceCube neutrino telescopes. The combination of both detectors, which differ in size and location, forms a window in the southern sky where the sensitivity to point sources improves by up to a factor of 2 compared with individual analyses. Using data recorded by ANTARES from 2007 to 2012, and by IceCube from 2008 to 2011, we search for sources of neutrino emission both across the southern sky and from a preselected list of candidate objects. No significant excess over background has been found in these searches, and flux upper limits for the candidate sources are presented for E-2.5 and E-2 power-law spectra with different energy cut-offs. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, descending order (down)](img/sort_desc.gif) |
We present the results of a missing-energy search for light dark matter which has a new interaction with ordinary matter transmitted by a vector boson, called dark photon A'. For the first time, this search is performed with a positron beam by using the significantly enhanced production of A' in the resonant annihilation of positrons with atomic electrons of the target nuclei, followed by the invisible decay of A' into dark matter. No events were found in the signal region with (10.1 +/- 0.1) x 109 positrons on target with 100 GeV energy. This allowed us to set new exclusion limits that, relative to the collected statistics, prove the power of this experimental technique. This measurement is a crucial first step toward a future exploration program with positron beams, whose estimated sensitivity is here presented. |
