Herrera-Aguilar, A., Rojas, A. D., & Santos, E. (2014). Localization of gauge fields in a tachyonic de Sitter thick braneworld. Eur. Phys. J. C, 74(4), 2770–6pp.
Abstract: In this work we show that universal gauge vector fields can be localized on the recently proposed 5D thick tachyonic braneworld which involves a de Sitter cosmological background induced on the 3-brane. Namely, by performing a suitable decomposition of the vector field, the resulting 4D effective action corresponds to a massive gauge field, while the profile along the extra dimension obeys a Schrodinger-like equation with a Poschl-Teller potential. It turns out that the massless zero mode of the gauge field is bound to the expanding 3-brane and allows us to recover the standard 4D electromagnetic phenomena of our world. Moreover, this zero mode is separated from the continuum of Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes by a mass gap determined by the scale of the expansion parameter. We also were able to analytically solve the corresponding Schrodinger-like equation for arbitrary mass, showing that KK massive modes asymptotically behave like plane waves, as expected.

Yu, Q. X., Pavao, R., Debastiani, V. R., & Oset, E. (2019). Description of the Xic and Xib states as molecular states. Eur. Phys. J. C, 79(2), 167–14pp.
Abstract: In this work we study several c and b states dynamically generated from the meson-baryon interaction in coupled channels, using an extension of the local hidden gauge approach in the Bethe-Salpeter equation. These molecular states appear as poles of the scattering amplitudes, and several of them can be identified with the experimentally observed c states, including the c(2790), c(2930), c(2970), c(3055) and c(3080). Also, for the recently reported b(6227) state, we find two poles with masses and widths remarkably close to the experimental data, for both the JP=1/2- and JP=3/2- sectors.

Aguilar, A. C., Binosi, D., Figueiredo, C. T., & Papavassiliou, J. (2018). Evidence of ghost suppression in gluon mass scale dynamics. Eur. Phys. J. C, 78(3), 181–15pp.
Abstract: In this work we study the impact that the ghost sector of pure Yang-Mills theories may have on the generation of a dynamical gauge boson mass scale, which hinges on the appearance of massless poles in the fundamental vertices of the theory, and the subsequent realization of the well-known Schwinger mechanism. The process responsible for the formation of such structures is itself dynamical in nature, and is governed by a set of Bethe-Salpeter type of integral equations. While in previous studies the presence of massless poles was assumed to be exclusively associated with the background-gauge three-gluon vertex, in the present analysis we allow them to appear also in the corresponding ghost-gluon vertex. The full analysis of the resulting Bethe-Salpeter system reveals that the contribution of the poles associated with the ghost-gluon vertex are particularly suppressed, their sole discernible effect being a slight modification in the running of the gluon mass scale, for momenta larger than a few GeV. In addition, we examine the behavior of the (background-gauge) ghost-gluon vertex in the limit of vanishing ghost momentum, and derive the corresponding version of Taylor's theorem. These considerations, together with a suitable Ansatz, permit us the full reconstruction of the pole sector of the two vertices involved.

Altakach, M. M., Lamba, P., Maselek, R., Mitsou, V. A., & Sakurai, K. (2022). Discovery prospects for long-lived multiply charged particles at the LHC. Eur. Phys. J. C, 82(9), 848–23pp.
Abstract: In this work, we aim to provide a comprehensive and largely model independent investigation on prospects to detect long-lived multiply charged particles at the LHC. We consider particles with spin 0 and 1/2, with electric charges in range 1 <= vertical bar Q/e vertical bar <= 8, which are singlet or triplet under SU(3)(c). Such particles might be produced as particle-antiparticle pairs and propagate through detectors, or form a positronium (quarkonium)-like bound state. We consider both possibilities and estimate lower mass bounds on new particles, that can be provided by ATLAS, CMS and Mol ',DAL experiments at the end of Run 3 and HL-LHC data taking periods. We find out that the sensitivities of ATLAS and CMS are generally stronger than those of MoEDAL at Run 3, while they may be competitive at HL-LHC for 3 less than or similar to vertical bar Q/e vertical bar less than or similar to 7 for all types of long-lived particles we consider.

Radics, B., Molina-Bueno, L., Fields, L., Sieber, H., & Crivelli, P. (2023). Sensitivity potential to a light flavor-changing scalar boson with DUNE and NA64 mu. Eur. Phys. J. C, 83(9), 775–7pp.
Abstract: In this work, we report on the sensitivity potential of complementary muon-on-target experiments to new physics using a scalar boson benchmark model associated with charged lepton flavor violation. The NA64 μexperiment at CERN uses a 160-GeV energy muon beam with an active target to search for excess events with missing energy and momentum as a probe of new physics. At the same time, the proton beam at Fermilab, which is used to produce the neutrino beam for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), will also produce a high-intensity muon beam dumped in an absorber. Combined with the liquid argon near detector, the system could be used to search for similar scalar boson particles with a lower-energy but higher-intensity beam. We find that both NA64 μand DUNE could cover new, unexplored parts of the parameter space of the same benchmarkmodel, providing a complementaryway to search for new physics.
