Title Linear response theory with finite-range interactions Type Journal Article

Abstract (down) This review focuses on the calculation of infinite nuclear matter response functions using phenomenological finite-range interactions, equipped or not with tensor terms. These include Gogny and Nakada families, which are commonly used in the literature. Because of the finite-range, the main technical difficulty stems from the exchange terms of the particle-hole interaction. We first present results based on the so-called Landau and Landau-like approximations of the particle-hole interaction. Then, we review two methods which in principle provide numerically exact response functions. The first one is based on a multipolar expansion of both the particle-hole interaction and the particle-hole propagator and the second one consists in a continued fraction expansion of the response function. The numerical precision can be pushed to any degree of accuracy, but it is actually shown that two or three terms suffice to get converged results. Finally, we apply the formalism to the determination of possible finite-size instabilities induced by a finite-range interaction.

Title First T2K measurement of transverse kinematic imbalance in the muon-neutrino charged-current single-pi(+) production channel containing at least one proton Type Journal Article

Abstract (down) This paper reports the first T2K measurement of the transverse kinematic imbalance in the single-pi(+) production channel of neutrino interactions. We measure the differential cross sections in the muonneutrino charged-current interaction on hydrocarbon with a single pi(+) and at least one proton in the final state, at the ND280 off axis near detector of the T2K experiment. The extracted cross sections are compared to the predictions from different neutrino-nucleus interaction event generators. Overall, the results show a preference for models that have a more realistic treatment of nuclear medium effects including the initial nuclear state and final-state interactions.

Title DESPEC Phase-0 campaign at GSI Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Nuovo Cimento C Abbreviated Journal Nuovo Cim. C

Abstract (down) This paper reports preliminary results of the DESPEC campaign at GSI, focused on the study of neutron-deficient nuclei approaching Sn-100. The results presented show the isomeric decays of excited states with I-pi = 14(+) and 8(+) in Pd-96 and Pd-94, respectively. The detailed characterisation of the DESPEC set-up and analysis methodologies, proven in this experimental run, are crucial for the future campaigns.

Title Search for dark matter produced in association with a single top quark in root s=13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector Type Journal Article

Abstract (down) This paper presents a search for dark matter in the context of a two-Higgs-doublet model together with an additional pseudoscalar mediator, a, which decays into the dark-matter particles. Processes where the pseudoscalar mediator is produced in association with a single top quark in the 2HDM+a model are explored for the first time at the LHC. Several final states which include either one or two charged leptons (electrons or muons) and a significant amount of missing transverse momentum are considered. The analysis is based on proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS experiment at root s = 13 TeV during LHC Run 2 (2015-2018), corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1). No significant excess above the Standard Model predictions is found. The results are expressed as 95% confidence-level limits on the parameters of the signal models considered.

Title Measurement of light-by-light scattering and search for axion-like particles with 2.2 nb(-1) of Pb+Pb data with the ATLAS detector Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 03 Issue 3 Pages 243 - 45pp
  Keywords Hadron-Hadron scattering (experiments)
Abstract (down) This paper describes a measurement of light-by-light scattering based on Pb+Pb collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment during Run 2 of the LHC. The study uses 2.2 nb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected in 2015 and 2018 at root sNN = 5.02TeV. Light-by-light scattering candidates are selected in events with two photons produced exclusively, each with transverse energy E-T(gamma) > 2.5 GeV, pseudorapidity vertical bar eta(gamma)vertical bar < 2.37, diphoton invariant mass m(gamma gamma) > 5 GeV, and with small diphoton transverse momentum and diphoton acoplanarity. The integrated and differential fiducial cross sections are measured and compared with theoretical predictions. The diphoton invariant mass distribution is used to set limits on the production of axion-like particles. This result provides the most stringent limits to date on axion-like particle production for masses in the range 6-100 GeV. Cross sections above 2 to 70 nb are excluded at the 95% CL in that mass interval.
