Abstract: Using pp collisions corresponding to 3 fb integrated luminosity, recorded by the LHCb experiment at centre- of- mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, the ratio of branching fractions B (0b ! (2 S) ) =B (0b ! J= ) = 0 : 513 0 : 023 (stat) 0 : 016 (syst) 0 : 011 (B) is determined. The first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the external branching fractions used.

Abstract: Using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 8.5 fb(-1) recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of root s = 7, 8, and 13 TeV, the observation of an excited B-c(+) state in the B-c(+)pi(+)pi(-) invariant-mass spectrum is reported. The observed peak has a mass of 6841.2 +/- 0.6(stat) +/- 0.1(syst) +/- 0.8(B-c(+)) MeV/c(2), where the last uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the B-c(+) mass. It is consistent with expectations of the B-c*(2(3)S(1))(+) state reconstructed without the low-energy photon from the B-c*(1(3)S(1))(+) -> B-c(+)gamma decay following B-c*(2(3)S(1))(+) -> B-c*(1(3)S(1))(+)pi(+)pi(-). A second state is seen with a global (local) statistical significance of 2.2 sigma (3.2 sigma) and a mass of 6872.1 +/- 1.3(stat) +/- 0.1(syst) +/- 0.8(B-c(+)) MeV/c(2), and is consistent with the B-c(2(1)S(0))(+) state. These mass measurements are the most precise to date.

Abstract: Using numerical methods, we investigate the absorption properties of a family of nonsingular solutions which arise in different metric-affine theories, such as quadratic and Born-Infeld gravity. These solutions continuously interpolate between Schwarzschild black holes and naked solitons with wormhole topology. The resulting spectrum is characterized by a series of quasibound states excitations, associated with the existence of a stable photonsphere.

Abstract: Understanding the origin and dynamics of hadron structure and in turn that of atomic nuclei is a central goal of nuclear physics. This challenge entails the questions of how does the roughly 1 GeV mass-scale that characterizes atomic nuclei appear; why does it have the observed value; and, enigmatically, why are the composite Nambu-Goldstone (NG) bosons in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) abnormally light in comparison? In this perspective, we provide an analysis of the mass budget of the pion and proton in QCD; discuss the special role of the kaon, which lies near the boundary between dominance of strong and Higgs mass-generation mechanisms; and explain the need for a coherent effort in QCD phenomenology and continuum calculations, in exa-scale computing as provided by lattice QCD, and in experiments to make progress in understanding the origins of hadron masses and the distribution of that mass within them. We compare the unique capabilities foreseen at the electron-ion collider (EIC) with those at the hadron-electron ring accelerator (HERA), the only previous electron-proton collider; and describe five key experimental measurements, enabled by the EIC and aimed at delivering fundamental insights that will generate concrete answers to the questions of how mass and structure arise in the pion and kaon, the Standard Model's NG modes, whose surprisingly low mass is critical to the evolution of our Universe.

Abstract: Type-X two Higgs doublet model is known to explain the muon g – 2 anomaly with a relatively light charged Higgs boson at large tan beta. The light charged Higgs boson has been searched in the main tau nu mode at the colliders. Invoking a scenario of inverse seesaw as the origin of neutrino masses and mixing, the charged Higgs boson can decay additionally to right-handed neutrinos which leads to interesting phenomenology. Considering generic lepton flavour violating signatures at the final states, a 5 sigma discovery can be achieved with the early data of LHC, at 14 TeV, for relatively large inverse seesaw Yukawa coupling Y-N. The very light pseudoscalar and charged Higgs boson mass reconstruction are performed using the new modes and the results look promising. The inverse seesaw Yukawa coupling is shown to be probed down to Y-N similar to 0.2 at HL LHC with 3000 fb(-1).
