  Abstract (down) We study the semileptonic b -> c decays of the lowest-lying triply heavy baryons made from b and c quarks in the limit m(b), m(c) >> Lambda(QCD) and close to the zero-recoil point. The separate heavy-quark spin symmetries strongly constrain the matrix elements, leading to single form factors for ccb -> ccc, bbc -> ccb, and bbb -> bbc baryon decays. We also study the effects on these systems of using a Y-shaped confinement potential, as suggested by lattice QCD results for the interaction between three static quarks.

  Abstract (down) We study the radiative pion decay pi(+) -> e(+) nu(e)gamma within nonlocal chiral quark models that include wave function renormalization. In this framework we analyze the momentum dependence of the vector form factor F-V(q(2)) and the slope of the axial-vector form factor F-A(q(2)) at threshold. Our results are compared with available experimental information and with the predictions given by the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. In addition we calculate the low energy constants l(5) and l(6), comparing our results with the values obtained in chiral perturbation theory.

  Abstract (down) We study the processes e(+)e(-) -> K+K-pi(+)pi(-)gamma, K+K-pi(0)pi(0)gamma, and K+K-K+K-gamma, where the photon is radiated from the initial state. About 84000, 8000, and 4200 fully reconstructed events, respectively, are selected from 454 fb(-1) of BABAR data. The invariantmass of the hadronic final state defines the e(+)e(-) center-of- mass energy, so that the K+K-pi(+)pi(-)gamma data can be compared with direct measurements of the e(+)e(-) -> K+K-pi(+)pi(-) reaction. No directmeasurements exist for the e(+)e(-) -> K+K-pi(0)pi(0) or e(+)e(-) -> K+K-K+K- reactions, andwe present an update of our previous result based on a data sample that is twice as large. Studying the structure of these events, we find contributions froma number of intermediate states and extract their cross sections. In particular, we perform a more detailed study of the e(+)e(-) -> phi(1020)pi pi gamma reaction and confirm the presence of the Y(2175) resonance in the phi(1020)integral(0)(980) and K+K-integral(0)(980) modes. In the charmonium region, we observe the J/psi in all three final states and in several intermediate states, as well as the psi(2S) in some modes, and measure the corresponding products of branching fraction and electron width.

  Title Study of X (3915) -> J/psi omega in two-photon collisions Type Journal Article

  Abstract (down) We study the process gamma gamma -> J/psi omega using a data sample of 519.2 fb(-1) recorded by the BABAR detector at SLAC at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at center-of-mass energies near the gamma(nS) (n = 2, 3, 4) resonances. We confirm the existence of the charmoniumlike resonance X (3915) decaying to J/psi omega with a significance of 7.6 standard deviations, including systematic uncertainties, and measure its mass (3919.4 +/- 2.2 +/- 1.6) MeV/c(2) and width (13 +/- 6 +/- 3) MeV, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. A spin-parity analysis supports the assignment J(P) = 0(+) and therefore the identification of the signal as due to the chi(c0)(2P) resonance. In this hypothesis we determine the product between the two-photon width and the final state branching fraction to be (52 +/- 10 +/- 3) eV.

  Abstract (down) We study the process e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)pi(-)gamma, with a photon emitted from the initial-state electron or positron, using 454.3 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at SLAC, corresponding to approximately 260 000 signal events. We use these data to extract the nonradiative sigma(e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)pi(-)) cross section in the energy range from 0.6 to 4.5 GeV. The total uncertainty of the cross section measurement in the peak region is less than 3%, higher in precision than the corresponding results obtained from energy scan data.
