Abstract |
A full energy and flavor-dependent analysis of the three-year high-energy IceCube neutrino events is presented. By means of multidimensional fits, we derive the current preferred values of the high-energy neutrino flavor ratios, the normalization and spectral index of the astrophysical fluxes, and the expected atmospheric background events, including a prompt component. A crucial assumption resides on the choice of the energy interval used for the analyses, which significantly biases the results. When restricting ourselves to the similar to 30 TeV-3 PeV energy range, which contains all the observed IceCube events, we find that the inclusion of the spectral information improves the fit to the canonical flavor composition at Earth, (1: 1: 1)(circle plus), with respect to a single-energy bin analysis. Increasing both the minimum and the maximum deposited energies has dramatic effects on the reconstructed flavor ratios as well as on the spectral index. Imposing a higher threshold of 60 TeV yields a slightly harder spectrum by allowing a larger muon neutrino component, since above this energy most atmospheric tracklike events are effectively removed. Extending the high-energy cutoff to fully cover the Glashow resonance region leads to a softer spectrum and a preference for tau neutrino dominance, as none of the expected electron (anti) neutrino induced showers have been observed so far. The lack of showers at energies above 2 PeV may point to a broken power-law neutrino spectrum. Future data may confirm or falsify whether the recently discovered high-energy neutrino fluxes and the long-standing detected cosmic rays have a common origin. |

Abstract |
A general method for classifying the possible quark models of a multi-Higgs-doublet model, in the presence of Abelian symmetries, is presented. All the possible sets of textures that can be present in a given sector are shown, thus turning the determination of the flavor models into a combinatorial problem. Several symmetry implementations are studied for two and three Higgs doublet models. Some models' implementations are explored in great detail, with a particular emphasis on models known as Branco-Grimus-Lavoura and nearest-neighbor-interaction. Several considerations on the flavor changing neutral currents of multi-Higgs models are also given. |

Abstract |
A generalized screened potential model (GSPM), recently developed to study the bottomonium spectrum, is applied to the calculation of charmonium masses and electromagnetic widths. The presence in the GSPM of more quark-antiquark bound states than in conventional nonscreened potential models, allows for the assignment of GSPM states to cataloged nonconventional J(++) charmonium resonances as well as for the prediction of new (noncataloged) J(++) states. The results obtained seem to indicate that a reasonable overall description of J(++) charmonium resonances is feasible. |

Abstract |
A generic search for anomalous production of events with at least three charged leptons is presented. The search uses a pp-collision data sample at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV corresponding to 4.6 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected in 2011 by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Events are required to contain at least two electrons or muons, while the third lepton may either be an additional electron or muon, or a hadronically decaying tau lepton. Events are categorized by the presence or absence of a reconstructed tau-lepton or Z-boson candidate decaying to leptons. No significant excess above backgrounds expected from Standard Model processes is observed. Results are presented as upper limits on event yields from non-Standard-Model processes producing at least three prompt, isolated leptons, given as functions of lower bounds on several kinematic variables. Fiducial efficiencies for model testing are also provided. The use of the results is illustrated by setting upper limits on the production of doubly charged Higgs bosons decaying to same-sign lepton pairs. |

Abstract |
A generic search is presented for a heavy particle decaying to WZ -> lvl'l' (l, l' = e, mu) final states. The data were recorded by the ATLAS detector in root s = 7 TeV pp collisions at the Large Hadron Collider and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1.02 fb(-1). The transverse mass distribution of the selected WZ candidates is found to be consistent with the standard model expectation. Upper limits on the production cross section times branching ratio are derived using two benchmark models predicting a heavy particle decaying to a WZ pair. |

Abstract |
A Hawking-Page phase transition between anti-de Sitter (AdS) thermal and AdS black hole was presented as a mechanism for explaining the QCD deconfinement phase transition within holographic models. In order to implement temperature dependence in the confined phase we use a hard-wall AdS/QCD model, where the geometry at low temperatures is described also by a black hole metric. We then investigate the temperature dependence of glueball states described as gravitons propagating in deformed background spaces. Finally, we use potential models to physically describe the implications of our study. |

Abstract |
A high-statistics sample of charged-current muon neutrino scattering events collected with the MiniBooNE experiment is analyzed to extract the first measurement of the double differential cross section (d(2)sigma/dT(mu)dcos theta(mu)) for charged-current quasielastic (CCQE) scattering on carbon. This result features minimal model dependence and provides the most complete information on this process to date. With the assumption of CCQE scattering, the absolute cross section as a function of neutrino energy (sigma[E-nu]) and the single differential cross section (d sigma/dQ(2)) are extracted to facilitate comparison with previous measurements. These quantities may be used to characterize an effective axial-vector form factor of the nucleon and to improve the modeling of low-energy neutrino interactions on nuclear targets. The results are relevant for experiments searching for neutrino oscillations. |

Abstract |
A light Z0 vector boson coupled to the second and third lepton generations through the L μ- L tau current with mass below 200 MeV provides a very viable explanation in terms of new physics to the recently confirmed og – 2 thorn μanomaly. This boson can be produced in the bremsstrahlung reaction μN – μNZ0 after a high energy muon beam collides with a target. NA64 μis a fixed-target experiment using a 160 GeV muon beam from the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron accelerator looking for Z0 production and its subsequent decays, Z0 – invisible. In this paper, we present the study of the NA64 μsensitivity to search for such a boson. This includes a realistic beam simulation, a detailed description of the detectors and a discussion about the main potential background sources. A pilot run is scheduled in order to validate the simulation results. If those are confirmed, NA64 μwill be able to explore all the remaining parameter space which could provide an explanation for the g – 2 muon anomaly in the L μ- L tau model. |

Abstract |
A measurement is presented of the (tt) over bar inclusive production cross section in pp collisions at a center-ofmass energy of pffisffiffi root s = 8 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The measurement was performed in the lepton + jets final state using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb(-1). The cross section was obtained using a likelihood discriminant fit and b-jet identification was used to improve the signal-to-background ratio. The inclusive (tt) over bar production cross section was measured to be 260 +/- 1(stat)(-23)(+22)(stat) +/- 8(lumi) +/- 4(beam) pb assuming a top-quark mass of 172.5 GeV, in good agreement with the theoretical prediction of 253(-15)(+13) pb. The (tt) over bar -> (e, mu) + jets production cross section in the fiducial region determined by the detector acceptance is also reported. |

Abstract |
A measurement of charm mixing and CP-violating parameters is reported, using B over bar -> D0(-> K0S pi+pi-)x mu- nu over bar μX decays reconstructed in proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment during the years 2016 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb-1. The measured mixing and CP-violating parameters are xCP = [4.29 1 1.48(stat) 1 0.26(syst)] x 10-3, yCP = [12.61 1 3.12(stat) 1 0.83(syst)] x 10-3, Ax = [-0.77 1 0.93(stat) 1 0.28(syst)] x 10-3, Ay = [3.01 1 1.92(stat) 1 0.26(syst)] x 10-3. The results are complementary to and consistent with previous measurements. A combination with the recent LHCb analysis of D*+ -> D0(-> K0S pi+ pi-)pi+ decays is reported. |
