Abstract |
We present the contributions to electric dipole moments (EDMs) induced by the Yukawa couplings of an additional electroweak doublet of colour-octet scalars. The full set of one-loop diagrams and the enhanced higher-order effects from Barr-Zee diagrams are computed for the quark (chromo-)EDM, along with the two-loop contributions to the Weinberg operator. Using the stringent experimental upper limits on the neutron EDM, constraints on the parameter space of the Manohar-Wise model are derived. |

Abstract |
A data sample collected with the LHCb detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1) is used to measure eleven CP violation observables in B-+/- -> Dh(+/-) decays, where h is either a kaon or a pion. The neutral D meson decay is reconstructed in the three-body final states: K-+/-pi(-/+)pi(0); pi(+)pi(-)pi(0); K+ K- pi(0) and the suppressed pi K-+(-/+)pi(0) combination. The mode where a large CP asymmetry is expected, B-+/- -> [K-+/-pi(-/+)pi(0)] K-D(+/-), is observed with a significance greater than seven standard deviations. The ratio of the partial width of this mode relative to that of the favoured mode, B-+/- -> [K-+/-pi(-/+)pi(0)] K-D(+/-), is R-ADS(K) = (1.27 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.02) x 10(-2). Evidence for a large CP asymmetry is also seen: A(ADS(K)) = – 0.38 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.02. Constraints on the CKM angle gamma are calculated from the eleven reported observables. |

Abstract |
Searches for CP violation in the decays D-(s)(+) -> eta pi(+) and D-(s)(+) -> eta'pi(+) are performed using pp collision data corresponding to 6 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected by the LHCb experiment. The calibration channels D-(s)(+) -> phi pi(+) are used to remove production and detection asymmetries. The resulting CP-violating asymmetries are A(CP) (D+ -> eta pi(+)) = (0.34 +/- 0.66 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.05)%, A(CP) (D-s(+) -> eta pi(+)) = (0.32 +/- 0.51 +/- 0.12)%, A(CP) (D+ -> eta'pi(+)) = (0.49 +/- 0.18 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.05)%, A(CP) (D-s(+) -> eta'pi(+)) = (0.01 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.08)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third, relevant for the D+ channels, is due to the uncertainty on A(CP) (D+ -> phi pi(+)). These measurements, currently the most precise for three of the four channels considered, are consistent with the absence of CP violation. A combination of these results with previous LHCb measurements is presented. |

Abstract |
The CKM angle gamma is determined from CP-violating observables measured in B-+/- -> D[K--/+pi(+/-)pi(+/-)pi(-/+)]h(+/-), (h = K, pi) decays, where the measurements are performed in bins of the decay phase-space of the D meson. Using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1), gamma is determined to be gamma = (54.8 (+6.0)(-5.8) (+0.6)(-0.6) (+6.7)(-4.3))degrees, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third from the external inputs on the coherence factors and strong phases of the D-meson decays. |

Abstract |
A search for forward proton scattering in association with light-by-light scattering mediated by an axion-like particle is presented, using the ATLAS Forward Proton spectrometer to detect scattered protons and the central ATLAS detector to detect pairs of outgoing photons. Proton-proton collision data recorded in 2017 at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 13TeV were analysed, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 14.6 fb(-1). A total of 441 candidate events were selected. A search was made for a narrow resonance in the diphoton mass distribution, corresponding to an axion-like particle (ALP) with mass in the range 150-1600 GeV. No excess is observed above a smooth background. Upper limits on the production cross section of a narrow resonance are set as a function of the mass, and are interpreted as upper limits on the ALP production coupling constant, assuming 100% decay branching ratio into a photon pair. The inferred upper limit on the coupling constant is in the range 0.04-0.09TeV-1 at 95% confidence level. |
