Abstract: We present measurements of Collins asymmetries in the inclusive process e(+)e(-) -> pi pi X, where p stands for charged pions, at a center-of-mass energy of 10.6 GeV. We use a data sample of 468 fb(-1) collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II B factory at SLAC, and consider pairs of charged pions produced in opposite hemispheres of hadronic events. We observe clear asymmetries in the distributions of the azimuthal angles in two distinct reference frames. We study the dependence of the asymmetry on several kinematic variables, finding that it increases with increasing pion momentum and momentum transverse to the analysis axis, and with increasing angle between the thrust and beam axis.

Abstract: The resonant substructure of B-s(0) -> (D) over bar K-0(-)pi(+) decays is studied with the Dalitz plot analysis technique. The study is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by LHCb. A structure at m((D) over bar K-0(-)) approximate to 2.86 GeV/c(2) is found to be an admixture of spin-1 and spin-3 resonances. The masses and widths of these states and of the D-s2*(2573)(-) meson are measured, as are the complex amplitudes and fit fractions for all the (D) over bar K-0(-) and K-pi(-) components included in the amplitude model. In addition, the D-s2*(2573)(-) resonance is confirmed to be spin 2.

Abstract: We measure the direct CP violation asymmetry, A(CP), in B -> X-s gamma and the isospin difference of the asymmetry, Delta A(CP), using 429 fb(-1) of data collected at Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP- II asymmetric- energy e(+)e(-) storage rings operating at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. B mesons are reconstructed from ten charged B final states and six neutral B final states. We find A(CP) = +(1.7 +/- 1.9 +/- 1.0)%, which is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction and provides an improvement on the world average. Moreover, we report the first measurement of the difference between A(CP) for charged and neutral decay modes, Delta A(CP) = +(5.0 +/- 3.9 +/- 1.5)%. Using the value of Delta A(CP), we also provide 68% and 90% confidence intervals on the imaginary part of the ratio of theWilson coefficients corresponding to the chromomagnetic dipole and the electromagnetic dipole transitions.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2014). Measurement of CP violation parameters in B-0 -> DK*(0) decays. Phys. Rev. D, 90(11), 112002–14pp.
Abstract: An analysis of B-0 --> DK*(0) decays is presented, where D represents an admixture of D-0 and (D) over bar (0) mesons reconstructed in four separate final states: K-pi(+), pi K--(+), K+K- and pi(+)pi(-). The data sample corresponds to 3.0 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision, collected by the LHCb experiment. Measurements of several observables are performed, including CP asymmetries. The most precise determination is presented of r(B)(DK*(0)), the magnitude of the ratio of the amplitudes of the decay B-0 --> DK+pi(-) with a b --> u or a b --> c transition, in a K pi mass region of +/- 50 MeV/c(2) around the K*(892) mass and for an absolute value of the cosine of the K*(0) helicity angle larger than 0.4.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2014). Measurements of CP violation in the three-body phase space of charmless B-+/- decays. Phys. Rev. D, 90(11), 112004–17pp.
Abstract: The charmless three- body decay modes B +/- -> K +/-pi(-)pi(-), B-+/- -> K-+/- (KK-)-K-+/-, B-+/- pi(-) K-K- and B-+/-pi(-)pi(-) are reconstructed using data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb detector. The inclusive CP asymmetries of these modes are measured to be [GRAPHICS] where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is due to the CP asymmetry of the B +/- J Psi K-+/- reference mode. The distributions of these asymmetries are also studied as functions of position in the Dalitz plot and suggest contributions from rescattering and resonance interference processes.
