To support and illustrate this idea, we consider a quadratic extension of general relativity (GR) formulated a la Palatini and show that nonrotating, electrically charged black holes develop a compact core at the Planck density which is nonsingular if the mass spectrum satisfies a certain discreteness condition. We also find that the area of the core is proportional to the number of charges times the Planck area.", optnote="WOS:000308497500002", optnote="exported from refbase (https://references.ific.uv.es/refbase/show.php?record=1154), last updated on Thu, 11 Oct 2012 12:16:04 +0000", issn="0218-2718", doi="10.1142/S0218271812500678", opturl="http://arxiv.org/abs/1207.4303", opturl="https://doi.org/10.1142/S0218271812500678", archivePrefix="arXiv", eprint="1207.4303", language="English" }
