BABAR Collaboration(del Amo Sanchez, P. et al), Azzolini, V., Lopez-March, N., Martinez-Vidal, F., Milanes, D. A., & Oyanguren, A. (2010). B-meson decays to eta ' rho, eta ' f(0), and eta ' K*. Phys. Rev. D, 82(1), 011502–8pp.
Abstract: We present measurements of B-meson decays to the final states eta'rho, eta'f(0), and eta'K*, where K* stands for a vector, scalar, or tensor strange meson. We observe a significant signal or evidence for eta'rho(+) and all the eta'K* channels. We also measure, where applicable, the charge asymmetries, finding results consistent with no direct CP violation in all cases. The measurements are performed on a data sample consisting of 467 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Our results favor the theoretical predictions from perturbative QCD and QCD factorization and we observe an enhancement of the tensor K-2*(1430) with respect to the vector K*(892) component.

Abstract: Bose-Einstein correlations of same-sign charged pions, produced in proton-proton collisions at a 7TeV centre-of-mass energy, are studied using a data sample collected by the LHCb experiment. The signature for Bose-Einstein correlations is observed in the form of an enhancement of pairs of like-sign charged pions with small four-momentum difference squared. The charged-particle multiplicity dependence of the Bose-Einstein correlation parameters describing the correlation strength and the size of the emitting source is investigated, determining both the correlation radius and the chaoticity parameter. The measured correlation radius is found to increase as a function of increasing charged-particle multiplicity, while the chaoticity parameter is seen to decrease.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., & Villanueva-Perez, P. (2014). Bottomonium spectroscopy and radiative transitions involving the chi(bJ)(1P, 2P) states at BABAR. Phys. Rev. D, 90(11), 112010–20pp.
Abstract: We use (121 +/- 1) million Upsilon(3S) and (98 +/- 1) million Upsilon(2S) mesons recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) collider at SLAC to perform a study of radiative transitions involving the chi(bJ)(1P, 2P) states in exclusive decays with mu(+)mu(-)gamma gamma final states. We reconstruct twelve channels in four cascades using two complementary methods. In the first we identify both signal photon candidates in the electromagnetic calorimeter (EMC), employ a calorimeter timing-based technique to reduce backgrounds, and determine branching-ratio products and fine mass splittings. These results include the best observational significance yet for the chi(b0)(2P) -> gamma Upsilon(2S) and chi(b0)(1P) -> gamma Upsilon(1S) transitions. In the second method, we identify one photon candidate in the EMC and one which has converted into an e(+)e(-) pair due to interaction with detector material, and we measure absolute product branching fractions. This method is particularly useful for measuring Upsilon(3S) -> gamma chi(b1,2)(1P) decays. Additionally, we provide the most up-to-date derived branching fractions, matrix elements and mass splittings for chi(b) transitions in the bottomonium system. Using a new technique, we also measure the two lowest-order spin-dependent coefficients in the nonrelativistic QCD Hamiltonian.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., & Villanueva-Perez, P. (2012). Branching fraction and form-factor shape measurements of exclusive charmless semileptonic B decays, and determination of vertical bar V-ub vertical bar. Phys. Rev. D, 86(9), 092004–31pp.
Abstract: We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B-0 -> pi(-)l(+)nu, B+ -> pi(0)l(+)nu, B+ -> omega l(+)nu, B+ -> eta l(+)nu, and B+ -> eta'l(+)nu (l = e or mu) undertaken with approximately 462 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions in several bins of q(2), the square of the momentum transferred to the lepton-neutrino pair, for B-0 -> pi(-)l(+)nu, B+ -> pi(0)l(+)nu, B+ -> omega l(+)nu, and B+ -> eta l(+)nu. From these distributions, we extract the form-factor shapes f(+)(q(2)) and the total branching fractions B(B-0 -> pi(-)l(+)nu) = (1.45 +/- 0.04(stat) +/- 0.06(syst)) X 10(-4) (combined pi(-) and pi(0) decay channels assuming isospin symmetry), B(B+ -> omega l(+)nu) = (1.19 +/- 016(stat) +/- 0.09(syst)) X 10(-4) and B(B+ -> eta l(+)nu) = (0.38 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.05(syst)) X 10(-4). We also measure B(B+ -> eta'l(+)nu) = (0.24 +/- 0.08(stat) +/- 0.03(syst)) X 10(-4). We obtain values for the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (KM) matrix element vertical bar V-ub vertical bar by direct comparison with three different QCD calculations in restricted q(2) ranges of B -> pi l(+)nu decays. From a simultaneous fit to the experimental data over the full q(2) range and the FNAL/MILC lattice QCD predictions, we obtain vertical bar V-ub vertical bar = (3.25 +/- 0.31) X 10(-3), where the error is the combined experimental and theoretical uncertainty.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., & Oyanguren, A. (2013). Branching fraction measurement of B+ -> omega l(+)nu decays. Phys. Rev. D, 87(3), 032004–11pp.
Abstract: We present a measurement of the B+ -> omega l(+)nu branching fraction based on a sample of 467 million B (B) over bar pairs recorded by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e(+)e(-) collider. We observe 1125 +/- 131 signal decays, corresponding to a branching fraction of B(B+ -> omega l(+)nu) = (1.21 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.08) x 10(-4), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The dependence of the decay rate on q(2), the invariant mass squared of the leptons, is compared to QCD predictions of the form factors based on a quark model and light-cone sum rules.

BABAR Collaboration(Lees, J. P. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., & Oyanguren, A. (2011). Branching fraction measurements of the color-suppressed decays B-bar(0) to D((*)0)pi(0), D((*)0)eta, D((*)0)omega, and D((*)0)eta ' and measurement of the polarization in the decay B-bar(0) -> D((*)0)omega. Phys. Rev. D, 84(11), 112007–25pp.
Abstract: We report updated branching fraction measurements of the color-suppressed decays (B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0), D*(0)pi(0), D(0)eta, D*(0)eta, D(0)omega, D*(0)omega, D(0)eta', and D*(0)eta'. We measure the branching fractions (x 10(-4)): B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0)) = 2.69 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.13, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)pi(0)) = 3.05 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.28, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.53 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.11, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.69 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.23, B((B) over bar (0) -> D(0)eta) = 2.57 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.14, B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)omega) = 4.55 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.39, B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)omega) = 1.48 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.07, and B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(0)eta') = 1.49 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.15. We also present the first measurement of the longitudinal polarization fraction of the decay channel D*(0)omega, f(L) = (66.5 +/- 4.7 +/- 1.5)%. In the above, the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The results are based on a sample of (454 +/- 5) x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Gamma(4S) resonance, with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage rings at SLAC. The measurements are the most precise determinations of these quantities from a single experiment. They are compared to theoretical predictions obtained by factorization, Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) and perturbative QCD (pQCD). We find that the presence of final state interactions is favored and the measurements are in better agreement with SCET than with pQCD.

Abstract: The branching fraction of the rare B-s(0) -> phi mu(+)mu(-) decay is measured using data collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1, 2, and 6 fb(-1), respectively. The branching fraction is reported in intervals of q(2), the square of the dimuon invariant mass. In the q(2) region between 1.1 and 6.0 GeV2/c(4) , the measurement is found to lie 3.6 standard deviations below a standard model prediction based on a combination of light cone sum rule and lattice QCD calculations. In addition, the first observation of the rare B-s(0)-> f(2)' (1525)mu(+)mu(-) decay is reported with a statistical significance of 9 standard deviations and its branching fraction is determined.

Abstract: We present a study of tau(-) -> pi(-KsKs0)-K-0(pi(0))nu(tau) and tau(-) -> (K-KsKs0)-K-0(pi(0))nu(tau) decays using a data set of 430 million tau lepton pairs, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 468 fb(-1), collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric energy e(+)e(-) storage rings. We measure branching fractions of (2.31 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.08) x 10(-4) and (1.60 +/- 0.20 +/- 0.22) x 10(-5) for the tau(-) -> pi(-KsKs0)-K-0 nu(tau) and tau(-) -> pi(-KsKs0)-K-0 pi(0)nu(tau) decays, respectively. We find no evidence for tau(-) -> (K-KsKs0)-K-0 nu(tau) and tau(-) -> (K-KsKs0)-K-0 pi(0)nu(tau) decays and place upper limits on the branching fractions of 6.3 x 10(-7) and 4.0 x 10(-7) at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: Measurements are reported of the central exclusive production of J= and ( 2 S) mesons in pp collisions at a centre- of- mass energy of 13 TeV. Backgrounds are signi fi cantly reduced compared to previous measurements made at lower energies through the use of new forward shower counters. The products of the cross- sections and the branching fractions for the decays to dimuons, where both muons are within the pseudorapidity range 2 : 0 < < 4 : 5, are measured to be The fi rst uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are due to the luminosity determination. The cross- sections are also measured di ff erentially for meson rapidities between 2.0 and 4.5. Good agreement is observed with theoretical predictions. Photoproduction cross- sections are derived and compared to previous experiments, and a deviation from a pure power- law extrapolation of lower energy data is observed.

Abstract: The centrality of heavy-ion collisions is directly related to the created medium in these interactions. A procedure to determine the centrality of collisions with the LHCb detector is implemented for lead-lead collisions root s(NN) = 5 TeV and lead-neon fixed-target collisions at root s(NN) = 69 GeV. The energy deposits in the electromagnetic calorimeter are used to determine and define the centrality classes. The correspondence between the number of participants and the centrality for the lead-lead collisions is in good agreement with the correspondence found in other experiments, and the centrality measurements for the lead-neon collisions presented here are performed for the first time in fixed-target collisions at the LHC.
